i didnt base my build off of this video, but its very alike and ive used this weapon for some days now. this is what ive learned. (keep in mind i use keen version and not bleed). winged sword does not activate with scatterthrow. do not sleep on how important range is, if you have used these weapons a lot you will know what i mean. try getting the high ground and use jumping attacks, headshots can really help with damage output. i have destroyed invaders because they went to lower elavation and id constantly get headshots. last thing is dont always use shard of alexander. true its very good, but a lot of bosses are so agressive in the dlc that id recommend using spear talisman instead or going for something with greater survivability.

Yes, if you are a ganker this is a great secondary weapon. Why didn't you just say "great for ganking"? Absolutely terrible main weapon, and unless you get summoned a lot for ganks not worth it to upgrade even to +24. Just bad against PVE and should only be used as a secondary gimmick in PVP IF you are ganking. Shit weapon, for real. Even for based builds designed for the weapon it just sucks.

@@honkyjesuseternalwhat other weapons offer this much mobility with a reasonable damage output? I was helping players with Rellana in the DLC and I genuinely don’t get hit or die. She can’t catch you because of you being able to attack while progressing backwards, sideways, etc. I think the movement you can do while attacking makes this so worth it (I use the blood variant)

I’ve been running these basically since the dlc drop, I also wear that same shadow thrall hood or whatever it’s called lol, it just suits a throwing knife build. The range buff last patch was HUGE for these, forget the damage they lost, the range and improved tracking is much more important

Hah screw you! I was just thinking of using the Daggers with my Beast Claws. Bust them out for some enemies. And I have the Light Greatsword upgraded which ill use depending on enemy. If I need more range for whatever reason.

These are great offhand weapon for a dexterity build. I'm running blood Milady and blood Smithscript daggers with 80dex/11arc and the blood buildup is still great. They also help to keep up the successive attack bonus really well

I run these in a similar way, however I also use blood incantations with them. I think they fill out the kit very nicely. Flies for long range, bloodboon for area denial, and talon can combo into scattershot. Use this with Ansbach armor and you’ll be a certified sanguine assassin. Gotta love a thematic build with killer drip

These make such a great combo build with the frost fu monk. Gives that build the bit of range that's sorely missing!

Despite their low damage, these led me to pretty much the fastest non cheese boss kills in the DLC. On NG plus I one shot, dancing lion, renalla, hippo and Mesmer. Here’s why I think they slap, for bosses particularly. 1. The full attack chain does surprisingly good damage, I was regularly seeing huge chunks coming off of bosses when I got the opportunity to just spam attacks. 2. Great with frost, despising having crap buildup you proc it due to the rapid attacks and get the additional debuff. 3. You can weave in a lot of additional damage that otherwise you couldn’t with melee. The jumping r2 is particularly safe and satisfying. 4. Mimic tear mimic tear mimic tear. When mimic bro has range he can reproc aggro 100x easier than melee, so the boss flips back and forth much more frequently that fighting with a melee support. This is how you get the point 1 attack windows. Legit weapon set, god tier with mimic bro, very powerful attack chain and back jumping attacks. Great with frost imo. Fastest boss kills I’ve had without abusing some of the silly setups. Criminally underrated, but not as wonderful on the landscape.

Would love to see you tackle a modern poison build now that we have The Poison Flower Blooms Twice as well as Poison Hand and Deadly Poison Perfume Bottle. I tried out the Scavenger Sword build you posted years ago, but right now I'm using a Poison Godskin Peeler that gets a B scaling in Dex, while having solid poison build up with a running R2, AND I get to have the Poisoned Hand in the offhand for the dmg proc bonus.

Please cover one involving the *Poisoned Hand!* It is low-key an absolute MONSTER of a utility weapon for instant Poison procs that stacks with the *Mushroom Crown* and the *Kindred of Rot Exultation!* You can also put on the *Lord of Blood’s Exultation* (And use the White Mask if you want heavier armor/like how it looks) and if you can activate all four sources, you’ll gain a whopping *70% AR BONUS*

This is a pretty cool, and challenging, build and style of play. I keep the Smithscript Dagger on me as a side arm of sorts. I primarily run Strength builds, so I’ll add this to my main hand weapons, get it to +24 and set it to a Heavy ash of war like Storm Blade, so I have multiple ranged attacks on my ranged side arm. Optimal? No, but it’s decent and interesting. Edit: the guard counter with this is pretty good too, you dodge backwards as you throw the weapon, allowing you to dodge but still get some damage.

Got a build for you: starter prophet mk2. The short spear is an amazing weapon, and so is catch flame. A pyro, high dex faith with swift spear and a decent medium shield (or golden order dip for the simple and good base ring of light and scholars shield) would probably do well. Think that's gonna be my next. Also decent in PVP, more than likely.

But Fex, don't you think fire daggers with Faith as main stat, scattershot ash and fire scorp charm would do much better damage? Bleed build-up is pretty slow compared to katanas, for example, and many bosses, especially in the DLC are immune to bleed.

I've already played the daggers. They are extremely fun. But I use "Scattershot Throw" so that I still have an option in close combat if necessary. The damage should not be underestimated. Simply because the heavy attack also does good dmg and is similar to ash in my opinion :-)

Your best bet with these weapons is just run pure Dexterity, and run Keen Smithscript Daggers + X Keen weapon (I use Keen Dane's Footwork), and you can use them as a sidearm with good effectiveness. Run them with Milicent's Prosthesis, RWSI, Blue Dancer Charm (Assuming you go light armor, helps a ton with damage) if not run smithing talisman, and last slot is whatever you want. You can run smitthing talisman if you run Blue Dancer Charm, or you can run Shattered Stone Talisman + Smithing Talisman.

Better ninja look is the thollier set with the bandit mask or the hood and mask one(forgot the name), for weapons left hand throwing daggers and for right hand use dry leaf arts with whatever katana you like for the second slot on your right hand. You could also edit this build by switching the katana for another dex weapon and change the armor to make a “dancer” or “assassin”.

My main issue with the throwing weapon is that there is no knock-out move. Like, with most weapons, you can light and heavy attack, and switch it up for bigger damage with a jump attack, or use the weapon art to finish an enemy quickly. With this, you have to just continually poke until the enemy dies. On regular enemies, you mow through them incredibly fast, and that's satisfying, but with enemies that have larger health pools or just better defense, it's just a matter of slowly chipping away health. Interesting build, I just think for me it needs something else and I can't figure what that might be.

Great build. I used something similar to this but with the claws of night. Also, do you think you can make a build with the Pata? I think it's a really cool weapon, but I don't really have an optimized build for it. Also, if anyone is interested, some really cool fashion souls with the Pata I like to use is the malekith set with the oathkeeper helm and black knight gauntlets to get to 51 poise.

I have an Idea for Winged Stance: either cold Infusion, Frozen Armament or Freeze Greese Use the Light Winged Stance set the Status and once it's Set use the Heavy instead for damage. That is if it Winged Stance actully works like that. I havn't found it yet but want to find it myself currently.

I'd swap out claws of night you get to still fling the claws out and the moveset is insanely good and it's so easy to get blood build ups. Also you have more rang than rhe dagger the dagger is still sick but claws of night is definitely a better version of the dagger
