@@mbmann3892 They are talking about what has been called a Hillary lock. There is a hole on the side plate you insert a tool and it locks up the gun so it can't fire. I do not understand why many get bent our of shape over it. My 686 has it. Doesn't bother me. Dirt? She is gone.

@@Setsuna012A bullshit attempt at reaching across the isle with the gun grabbers that S&W did in the 90’s did with the Clintons. AKA the Hillary Hole. It’s a lock on the side of the gun that when engaged is supposed to render the gun inoperable, thus it’s a built in child safety lock of sorts. In reality it was a political stunt that did nothing to deter or prevent gun crime or deaths and in some cases even malfunctioned, rendering the gun broken.

They should've put the regular checkered service grips on the model 10. Hopefully, they'll fix that. It's amazing and appalling to see how little gun manufacturers listen to their customers. They need to start accepting suggestions from customers while guns are in the planning stages. Instead, most manufacturers are obsessed with being secretive. Then suddenly, SURPRISE, here's a new gun with a couple of things you won't like! SHM!

While that was never a criteria for me buying a new production Smith & Wesson, it sure has been the criteria for me buying older ones. I can wait for these to prove themselves in usage rather than knee-jerk to prove the marketing. I'm pretty set on already proven and reliable S&W revolvers and have more than I can shoot with two hands and a New York reload. Until the real critical end users prove otherwise, this is a marketing gimmick. Just like Springfield's SA-35's. Which were unfinished garbage.

I own quite a few late model Smiths, have never (and will never) used the lock, not even sure where the keys are. I don't HATE the lock, I just would prefer not to have it. A 29 with no lock and counterbored chambers could be an insta-buy for me.

Ruger should take notes down too but instead Ruger is cranking out Glock Gen 3 clones. Look I'm a Glock guy myself but even I'm tired of seeing GLOCK clones in the market. It's either some sort of Glock 19 Gen 3 clone, M92FS clone, another 1911 clone or a Walther PPQ clone and most of them are Turkish.

@@SCH292 I would love a Ruger mini that's able to use standardized ar-15 mags, and a new ruger 96 which is a lever action gun that uses all 1022 magazines. Lever action guns are cool but tube magazines aren't fun for a serious amount of shooting. A take down mini ruger would be cool though.

Better late than never! I can't wait to finally buy a new S&W revolver again. I'm in for that no-lock Model 10 and Model 19 as soon as I can find them in stock! Love the classic touches done to the Model 10 and 36 too - half moon front sight, large ejector rod end, etc. Thanks for finally listening to over twenty years of demands, S&W. Now delete the lock from the rest of the revolver line! Hopefully S&W reverts the frame shapes back to the nicer curves of the pre-lock guns and changes the barrel font back to the older style sometime in the future.
