@@Setsuna012A bullshit attempt at reaching across the isle with the gun grabbers that S&W did in the 90’s did with the Clintons. AKA the Hillary Hole. It’s a lock on the side of the gun that when engaged is supposed to render the gun inoperable, thus it’s a built in child safety lock of sorts. While that was never a criteria for me buying a new production Smith & Wesson, it sure has been the criteria for me buying older ones. I can wait for these to prove themselves in usage rather than knee-jerk to prove the marketing. I'm pretty set on already proven and reliable S&W revolvers and have more than I can shoot with two hands and a New York reload. Until the real critical end users prove otherwise, this is a marketing gimmick. Just like Springfield's SA-35's. Which were unfinished garbage.

Bravo to Smith and Wesson for recreating true classic models, they all look fantastic. My EDC is a 442 (no lock) that might be replaced by that 36

Still have my duty Model 10, 15 and 66. Fantastic firearms, accurate and reliable. Carried those for years from the 70's through early 90's.

Glad to see this change coming. We have been harping at this for years. I will be buying new when you get to what I want. I would like a 6" model 19 if its in a gloss blue finish.

Finally, thank you! Would love to see a whole line of 1917s. One faithful to the original, one with target sights, and maybe some shorter barreled models. More barrel lengths in the 57 would be awesome too.
