Thank you for this video! Most detailed I’ve seen and I LOVE your propane set up. I think I’ll try to do something similar. Wish someone made it

Thank you, I’m glad you liked it. There are some propane mounts for sale but they’re a little pricy and I didn’t want to drill holes in my hardtop. I used this one as a reference and made my own with a cardboard template. Best of luck! www.vividracing.com/-p-153115927.html?gclid=CjwKCAiAhreNBhAYEiwAFGGKPHEC6ZOkJo4ZQ_QNt2uRnMauMZdVPd81BlF5QJHX7ps-0wuEicNEUBoCExgQAvD_BwE

Haha ignore my post on the diesel heater, I found your video on your tire carrier. These Jeeps are money pits, everytime I do a project it leads to another purchase and more $$$

Haha, all good Kat! And yes they are money pits. I’ve certainly gone down the rabbit hole. I spent way to much on it over the last year but you gotta do what makes you happy!

After year of having this bumper. Still like it? Also what size tires you have on those stock rims? I love the upgraded stock look
@aj.adventures2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! I love the bumper but it does need to be maintained. Adjusting the swing arm height and greasing the hung. They are 35”, I had to do 2” wheel spacers to fit them. I love the look too but I will be changing them soon.

Hi again AJ. Whabrand of fuel cans are you using? They seem to fit well.

Hi Kat, they are Midwest Can Company 5 gallon metal Jerry cans from 4 Wheel Parts. The 20L Princess auto ones don’t fit.

@@aj.adventures I bought some really old ones for now for a good price, cleaned them out and will use them until I can get newer ones at a decent price. Prices have just gone crazy. Keep on posting, I feel like I am copying so much. My muse LOL

how do you like that bumper now that you have had it a while? I've been thinking about adding one to my jeep
@aj.adventures3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ed, I like it a lot. Just make sure you add as many shims as you can to tighten it up. I also had to replace the hardware for the latch and add lock tight. And I make sure to grease the hinge every few months. It’s a great addition with lots of mounting options if you’re an overlander

Funny I saw this bumper and I'm thinking of getting because of the set up that will work better for me. I already have the XRC w/ Tire carrier but this will be better. Just a question, do you have info on what and how you built the propane carrier? I'm loving that setup and know it would be perfect for me. Thanks
@aj.adventures3 жыл бұрын
I made a cardboard template and cut it out on 18 or 20 gauge steel with a cutting disk on my grinder. I bent it using a small bench mounted bending brake. I welded the bottom seems. I then bolted it to the top of the tire carrier using existing holes. I think the clamp is an 8 inch that holds the bottle in. I used a rubber edge material from Canadian Tire to finish the edges. I'll do a small video on it when I get a chance to show it closer. Hope that helps.

@@aj.adventures Ya that's good info, thanks ... I'm seeing a couple things you've done that I like, the LED lights in side are nice as well... Next Jeep meet I'll have to search you out to have an up close look!! It's nice to get the ideas from the community Thanks again

I've been looking at this a few months but I'm having a hard time getting over the weight. Smittybilt says the system weights 240 lbs. Some other site said the shipping weight is 190 lbs. What do you think it weighs? Did you beef up the rear suspension to accommodate for the extra weight?
@aj.adventures2 жыл бұрын
Hi Bob, Thanks for your question. I am planning a new suspension eventually. I’m going to be installing one with dual rate springs. For now I’ve installed the airlift 1000 kit in my stock springs. It makes it so I can carry up to an extra 1000lbs.

What brand of Jerry Can did you purchase? I've read that this will only fit select brands.
@aj.adventures3 жыл бұрын
I used the Midwest Can Company mainly because of the price but the Wavian Steel cans also fit. I was disappointed my plastic 20L water Jerry can was to wide to fit but they also make steel ones in blue, yellow and green. www.4wheelparts.ca/p/midwest-can-company-5-gallon-metal-jerry-can-gas-5810/_/R-GNRG-5810

Man the bumper looks great. I have that same outer body cage as well. Do you battle it squeaking or rattling on road or trail?
@aj.adventures8 ай бұрын
Oh man, it sounds like you know already! 😂 I have tried new hardware, tightening, rubber pads and eventually just accepted it. Sorry I do t have a solution for you. If you find something please let me know!
@Papa__Squatch8 ай бұрын
@@aj.adventures no worries. The guy I bought mine from had some rubber isolators that were supposed to be used if you mounted to the body. I may try to recreate those.

do they have this bumper for the JL model?
@aj.adventures2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t seen the Smittybilt XRC for the JL but there are others with tire swing arms. If you go to extreme terrain, quadratec or 4WP and search rear bumpers you can see what else is available.

hi I am very interested in this rear bumper. your impressions. it is default and quality thank you. and thanks for sharing the installation.
@aj.adventures3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dominic, I almost went with a cheaper one but I wouldn't have been able to mount the tanks or much else. The hinge does need to be adjusted and greased every once and awhile. So far it's been pretty awesome!
@türkiyetrafikçekimleri3 жыл бұрын
how did you build the cylinder holder?
@aj.adventures3 жыл бұрын
I made a template out of cardboard and then copied it into thin sheet steel from Princess Auto. I used a cutting wheel to cut it out, bent it with a small table top brake and then welded the bottom edges. Then I drilled two holes and bolted it to the top of my tire carrier. I used an 8” clamp to hold the tank on. I painted it red and glued a rubber trim from Canadian tire around the edge.
