Returning to listening to this after the Super Mario Movie. I am so glad Nintendo put this in the movie. Your version would've gone great with the Rainbow Road battle scene. I give Nintendo props for adding Mario Kart into the movie & making it work within the context of the plot & story. Once I saw the second trailer with the Rainbow Road Mario Kart scene, I knew that this movie was going to be something special. Over a billion dollars internationally in the box office shows how great & epic this movie was.
