As per tradition, I will now leave my massive comment time-stamping all my most notable thoughts 7:00 That transition from Rock Rock Mountain into London Loop was smooth as BUTTER. I've always felt like those two songs feel like they should be married and you did so perfectly. 7:40 And while Block Plaza wasn't the speed freak I love it for being and was missing some of my favorite details, I admire the way you put your own spin on it. 8:40 I LOVE how you used Banshee boardwalk to build a sense of dread and anticipation for the scariest thing of all; THE 2D GAMES! OOOOOooooOOOO~! (Jokes aside these two truly feel like the best songs to use for a spooky climax) 10:56 You really had me here. This Rainbow Road foreshadow really grabbed my attention. I am LOCKED IN. 11:21 MMM BABY them SWEET EUROBEAT SYNTHS. BETTER THAN SEX! 11:30 BROOO ANOTHER GENIUS TRANSITION, you SPOIL me, Fred "Montgomery" Mole. All of the next like 5 transitions are also utterly fantastic, they just blend seamlessly together 15:34 I'm not gonna lie... I see a HUGE missed opportunity to use the part of the song that leads into the chorus. Oh well, its a small gripe and the first one I've really had (aside from the choice to use the early half of the snes battle theme instead of the back half) 16:06 Guitars? In MY snowland? It's more likely than you'd think. I do love how it sets up the second half of your use for it all things considered and the lowkey version of DK Summit that follows is surprisingly relaxing 18:03 Maple Treeway into Daisy Circuit is a fine choice. These two songs pair quite well. Unfortunately... I hate to say it, but I just didn't feel the energy in Ninja Hideaway. It feels like you not only surrounded one of the most exciting songs in the game with a bunch of the most relaxing ones, but even as its toned down, it just feels a bit out of place. It's _fine_ but when it comes to ninja hideaway, I can't help but build my expectation to be as overstimulating as the track itself. 19:34 I LOVE this mood change, but MAN what I wouldn't have given for just a LITTLE bit more of the song. The Madrid Drive chorus is a contender for my favorite chorus in all of Mario Kart, and I totally understand you were trying to limit yourself to only part of each song and the verse of this song is not only more iconic, but sets a much more immediate mood, but MAN I love that chorus so much and I'd love to have seen the climax of the song play out. 20:00 I love this instrument you used in place of the Kazoo and Choco Mountain goes into Wario's Goldmine pretty damn smoothly and it just gets EVEN BETTER with Sunset Wilds. 23:30 Yoshi Valley -> Delphino Pier -> Cheese Land Seemingly a random set of transitions that all just work wonderfully. I have no clue why these songs fit together but there's definitely something here. 24:07 Maaan, I wish you would mess with higher tempos just a little more, if anything is to embody a sense of speed, it's FZero and the chaotic energy of Waluigi and especially compared to the palpable energy I felt during the Toad's Factory section. These faster songs just need that extra bit of spice, especially if you're gonna slow them down like this 25:15 Shy Guy Falls was NOT on the list of songs I expected you to make me fall in love with, but this has such a dynamic flow that just sucks me in, keeps me immersed and sticks the landing 25:33 Now THAT'S more like it. That's the chaotic high speeds I expect from Waluigi! 26:31 YES! THIS! THIS IS AN FZERO SONG, MY GUY! No notes, only my unadulterated praise. 27:12 Berlin being here does not feel like the victory lap it deserves... Idk it just feels like it comes out of nowhere and I wanted just a bit more from my favorite song in all of Mario Kart... 27:58 Obviously, to pair Neo Bowser City with anything EXCEPT Toad's Turnpike would be blasphemous, but I ADORE how you use the Toad's Turnpike section as a chance to DOUBLE DOWN and increase the tension the Neo Bowser sets up, shifting directly from this futuristic synth-like sound to a much more DEEP and life-filled piano that communicates something deeper outside the surface level of the city. 28:19 I do love this dragged on intro as you hear the guitar set in even before the song STARTS. I also love how the main percussion is just able to keep going between the SNES and GBA songs and how the GBA makes a sudden increase of frantic energy. 29:18 I took me a couple listens to figure out where these couple of piano notes came from. I love this small little reprise from 7. 29:24 BRO WHEN I TELL YOU MY HEART SANK. And the way Wii, just continues this overbearing sense of dread and despair and escalates into an eye-watering climax right at the moment I thought FOR SURE it was gonna swap away... The way these two songs were handled MOVED me at my CORE. 30:08 Idk what it is, but 8 Rainbow Road has been growing on me in such an impactful way. The instrument change 30:24 REALLY put me in the mood. 31:21 NOOO RIGHT BEFORE THE BEST PART. AAAAAAA. YOU'RE COOKING AMAZINGLY BUT LEAVING IT HERE IS LIKE ONLY GIVING ME AN APPETIZER. PLEASE GET BACK IN THE KITCHEN, I'M NOT READY FOR DESSERT YET!! 31:30 YOU CANNOT DO THIS TO MAN. THIS IS CALLED EDGING. I DON'T CARE THAT GBA IS MY FAVORITE RAINBOW ROAD, AND IT IS PAID AN UNFATHOMABLE AMOUNT OF RESPECT, THIS CRUEL. 32:20 I KNOW how important it in your head to do the Rainbow Roads in reverse chronological order, but I feel like the momentum to prompt this section has come and gone... For what its worth, this is a GREAT cover of n64 rainbow road and I LOVE how you use it to launch into SNES, but I CANNOT forgive you for what you did to me in the double dash section 32:23 That said, for SNES being one of my least favorites musically, you genuinely did make this live upto its hype and that first place jingle feels like the perfect to cap off the medley. Keep on creating, Fred. No matter how many negative ninnies you get from the TJ "Henry" Yoshis of the world who insist that Block Plaza should be blindingly fast or that Ninja Hideaway doesn't go with maple Treeway and Donut plains. At the end of the day, you're still making good shit and you should own that.

Wow. I really admire your dedication to picking order based on many different factors in the music, even when it's surprising and only really with the rainbow roads did you seemingly force yourself to do an order. It leads to almost all of the transitions being smooth and fantastic. You fleshed out harmonies and instrumentation since last time to make it more bombastic, but also toned down some parts so there's variety there too. Makes it good to listen to. Like many other's I'd like to highlight Pipeline, but I'll do it from a musical standpoint where you did complete justice to a song from the OST you don't listen to (please please please look up "sky garden tour ost" and listen it's the one song they really remade). I really love how it feels almost like an underwater variant, it could thrive as a full arrangement because it's that good and sustainably arranged. And of course the rainbow roads, your arpeggio transition from bc to rr was magical. Well done!

Damn, did you make this medley in grumble volcano? because this is straight FIRE! 🔥🔥🔥 memes aside, this was an awesome medley to listen to! There were a lot of highlights for me, which I'll note here: Mushroom Gorge into LA Laps was very interesting, I never thought those two songs would work into each other like that, but you made it work really well! Rock Rock Mountain was pretty hype. Sweet Sweet Canyon into Squeaky Clean Sprint was WILD to listen to for the first time. In the back of my mind, I called Lunar Colony into Sky Garden, and I was pretty surprised to see that actually happen lol. Also using the final lap version of Sky Garden to lead into Cloudtop Cruise was genius. Also also I liked that you showed self restraint to not use the gusty garden portion of CC, since I feel like that part of the song overshadows the rest of it. Also also also putting Sky High Sundae after that was pretty hype too. Why was this section so damn good? Sydney into Coconut Mall was awesome, two goated song back to back is always welcome. 26:05 into 27:01 was undoubetdly the best part of the whole thing. Singapore into Vancouver and THEN INTO THE FINAL PART OF BIG BLUE was incredible! Also putting Baby Park at the end of Big Blue is comedy gold and I completely respect it. The Moonview Highway section practically made my jaw drop, I love how you lined up the regular variant and city variant with the gameplay. I wasn't expecting GBA Rainbow Road to be the highlight of the RR segment for me, but it totally was and I could never be more flabbergasted. My only real nitpick for this medley is that the Yoshi Desert section was too short, I think that song's a banger and it was a bit dissapointing to see that only the opening bit made it into the medley. Other than that, this medley was awesome! Totally an improvement over the first one. also 7:48 for best mario kart song

@nickf25714 ай бұрын
So, I'm not sure if it's because I'm autistic, but I think I actually prefer the original? I *do not* want to detract from the effort and love that clearly went into this medley, as there is obviously a huge amount of both present but I find that the instrumentation and or mixing/balancing of this version is a lot muddier and indistinct, which makes it difficult for me to tell the main audio track(s) from the backing audio track(s). I also have a much more subjective opinion on the instrumentation being very similar for each track, as while that makes the whole medly more cohesive it detracts from the inidividual personality of each track. Of course, it's not required that each track have its personality be on display in a medley such as this and it's entirely up to the creator to decide what goals they wish to enact with their artistic creations, but the interplay between the mixing and the overall instrumentation makes this version rank as personally inferior to me (I really really want to stress the *personally* here). While, from a completionist perspective, I'm obviously very glad this revamp exists, I think I'll have to stick with the original in spite of that.

Just comparing this and your previous intro with Super Mario Kart's Mario Circuit being the first song that plays for both versions and I could already tell I'm in for a banger of a medley

Since the Mario Kart music ranking, it really jumps out at me what parts of each song you’ve chosen to use-the piano from Toad’s Factory, the B section of N64 Raceway, the bit before the loop for Cheep Cheep Lagoon, as little of Yoshi Desert as possible… Also, Ribbon Road > Koopa Troopa Beach > Toad Harbor was very smooth and not yet mentioned here, so props!

9:45 As humorous as this is, it does bug me a bit that there isn't any actual footage. It's a really neat course, so it's a shame for it to be left out.

yeah, i'm not the biggest tour fan but it's silly how hard any content it brought to the table is sweeped under the rug, the game entered a loop a year ago and precisely this week and the next are the times when piranha plant pipeline is avaliable to play.

This was so much fun to listen to and try to hum along as it went! Such a fun musical journey, just like the og! Some highlights I really liked were 7:04 Rock Rock Mountain being SO hype (an underrated BANGER in my opinion, one of my favorites for sure) 10:57 Toad’s Factory once again being the perfect transitional song into lap 2 20:46 The way you ramped up the instrumentation when switching from lap 2 to 3 on Sky Garden, 21:20 Also… idk I really liked the vibes of specifically Sky High Sundae? Almost would’ve been perfect right at the end before Bowser’s, it gives me the vibes of being in first and on that final straightaway to the finish line. 24:10 Also love that you used the DRAMATIC part of Mute City, sounds sooooo good! 16:54 Ooh yeah, Mount Wario stands out a bunch more, too, that climax just SOARS 29:35 Wii Bowser’s Castle gives me chills, within a handful of seconds, totally captured the chilling sound of that song 31:29 And same for Super Circuit Rainbow Road!! Calling some much-needed attention to THAT part which is SO underrated, and it is GLORIOUS tucked in between the other Rainbow Roads here! The updated instrumentation and additional songs overall sound really great! Wonderful work, I will be listening to this every day to the point that I memorize the entire order of songs probably

first of all, id like to say that you've done an incredible job with it and it goes really hard what blows my mind is that for every third of the video you actually changed the lap for the music and it even shows on the gameplay and i think that's genius and it shows the love you have for these games i am very glad i listened to the whole thing from start to finish

Last time around, my two gripes were: 1, an excessive focus on synthesizer sounds, and 2, that on GBA Rainbow Road, yiu used the wrong section, neglecting the in mh opinion vriminally underrated 3rd section. You fixed both of those things in this arrangement and I am super grateful. I almost teared up a little hearing Super Circuit's Rainbow Road.

This video reminded me why I love the MK Wii soundtrack especially. The Toad Factory remix around 11 minutes in blew me away, and the remix for Ninja Hideaway at 18:25 was killer too! I absolutely adore the Bower's Castle section starting at 28:20; the transition especially from Double Dash's Bower's Castle to N64's was great and the musical shift surprised me in a good way! :D And, of course, finishing it off with Rainbow Road! It really takes me back! Great Medley all around!!

Seeing Mario Kart DS Battle Mode brings back so many memories. Me and my mother used to play the living daylights out of that mode. Some great memories there. We only had the game for 1 DS at the time but thanks to Nintendo for inventing that Download Play option for the DS we were able to play together... Something I'm amazed Nintendo never brought back the Download Play feature.
