SMK Spitfire domed pellets pt 1

Spitfire .22 domes in an old Theoben Sirocco, shocked me ! they were doing 22mm groups outdoors @30yds in the rain. Not far short of my normal pellets, It may not sound good but it is good for me ;-) It must be down to individual barrel as there are a mixed bag on these !

I have been shooting these for about 5 months. Through my Zbroia Kozak. 177, loves them. I also shoot at Atherton, just started shooting these through my Cometa fenix 400 springer. These will do the bottom multi bell box at 40 yards through both my guns, only got the first 6 with the springer. I think people need to run a good amount through there rifles so they lead in. I have Shot these out of Mark's HW 100 at Atherton, spot on at 35/40 yards. Might be worth it to give them another try. They seem to like longer distance, as I have shot these at Rochdale at 50 mtrs. Might see you at Atherton so you can try them in my guns. All the best

Hi brandon....nice cheap pellets at the time....its good when other people test them in a different rifle. I some times cant make my mind up what rifle they should be tested in. , i try to pick a common one , not every one has a pulsar or styr...thanks for the comment

I recently bought two tins of these and they were £7.50 a tin. They were absolutely fantastic through my Ghost so went back for more. The dealer had run out of them and said he would be getting more in but they would be more expensive next time!

Most pellets have gone up in price...h & N only put 400 in some tins now , not 500 pellets

You tend to get what you pay for. I've bought 3 tins of .22 Spitfire flat heads for plinking with springers, I'm not too hopeful for their accuracy straight out of the tin, definitely over lubed and I can see many small flakes of lead in there so it looks like they need to be washed at a minimum. If you're knocking over cans in the garden with a budget springer at short range they'll be fine but if you're looking for tight groups with a high end PCP the spitfires are not worth messing with IMO, save your money for some AA Field / JSB.

Tbh..most flat heads are for 10 yds and not much past that..some older rifles like older pellets rather than modern ones too

@@POINTSOFAIMcheekyscouser Yeah flatheads are good for 10m targets/plinking and short range pests eg rats but round heads pellets are best allround. I think on older .22 air rifles the bore ID was made a bit bigger than 5.5mm eg 5.53mm, I just remember old pellets like Milbro Caledonian being rubbish compared with modern ones.

I could not have been more disappointed by the new pellets, nearly out of my 20 year old tins so bought a new tin, skirts are awful, totally different weight, height and profile compared to the old, my Milbro Model 77 loves the old pellets, so disappointed!

Every rifle/pistol is different...might be the power output or twist rate
