Pro tip: When fossil hunting, put the fossils that you don't want as held items on Pokemon in your PC. That way you don't have to sell the fossils and use them in the future for whatever.

I really miss the SOS method in Sun and Moon. It was a very active method and the method I used to find a shiny female Salandit. (Favorite shiny) I'm crossed on S&S's shiny hunting methods as the Dynamax adventure is just so much better odds than all other methods. Its good and bad. Wish there were more balanced odds across the variety of shiny hunting strats.

The first shiny I ever got was a full odds in moon. First time through I was nuzzlocking the game. The first pokemon I found on a route was shiny but I wasn't paying attention when I found it. I thought it was a regional variation and it was not till I used it in the first gym did I know it was a shiny. (I think the pokemon name was makuhita. It was the first stage of the guy that has 2 huge palms that is a sumo.)

Alphtheo R. I’ve never tested that myself. I’ll try it out and see if I find a shiny Pokémon more often 👍 I’ve heard people say it was a thing but I never saw any proof to it.

They have a higher encounter rate, and thus there are more of that Pokémon to be potentially shiny.

They dont necessarily have a larger chance of being shiny, there are just more of them! So if you happen to be shiny hunting one of them, it'll be easier since you'll run into them more often.

I'm at 1200 for shiny Riolu. Masuda with shiny charm. It's turning into my Masuda no charm Toxel. 1737 eggs. What a grind. I hope I get it soon. I was also able to get a shiny Milotic at Lake of Outrage after 1067 soft resets (shiny charm without exploits). I named him Atem. So happy. I'm doing this with all of the trade evolutions that I can so someone can't swipe my shinys if I trade it to evolve it.

I use the Mesuda Method AND The Flame body method. At the same time when i use mesuda to GET the eggs. Then i use flame body for hatching them. I have a shiny Xerneas, Shiny articuno and rayquaza all shiny! Also just got a new sub!

Venusaur is my go-to for catching. Sleep powder rules and false swipe is finally available on it. Ghost types I usually just quick ball if I can. Definitely gonna bring backups for the steel and ghost types.

Um... no they are not. Nintendo doesn't ban people who use the exploit. The way they counter it is they ban the gmax pokemon in ranked battles so you can't use your shiny gmax stuff as well as gmax pokemon are too overpowered with EVs and IVs

I haven't done any shiny hunting in Sword and Shield yet, but I'm working on the Pokedex and I love using Butterfree for catching Pokemon! I prefer Stun Spore to Sleep Powder because you only have to use it once per battle. I have a Zacian with False Swipe, and an Inteleon with Soak so that I can use False Swipe on Ghost types and Stun Spore on Grass and Electric types.

If you get Gallade as a catch Pokémon, you can use heal pulse to heal the Pokémon in case of weather or it hurts itself

I have used that plenty of times in Pixelmon not only would Soak remove any Ghost typings (even if Ghost is part of a Pokemon's secondary type, it just turns the Pokemon in to a single Water type) to let you False Swipe, but it removes Electric types so they can be stunned (or Ground so they can be hit by Thunder Wave), Grass types so they can get hit by Sleep Powder (or Spore if thats in the game... not entirely sure ^^;) and makes it easier to False Swipe Rock and/or Steel types, so it does a bit more than what Scrappy, Detect, Odour Sleuth and Foresight can do and another thing I've learnt from Pixelmon that I found useful for hunting, is bring someone with the ability Magic Guard (it can be Solosis/evo, Sigilyph or HA Abra/evo) and teach it Skill Swap (it's a chain eggmove for Sigilyph and Abra, but it's a level up move for Solosis), when you find a shiny that can have a RECOIL damaging moves like Take Down, Double Edge, Flare Blitz, Head Smash etc. (doubt it'd work on Struggle though) use the move Skill Swap to swap the wild Pokemon's ability with your Pokemon's Magic Guard ability... what Magic Guard will do is protect the user from recoil damage, it's super handy as although Rock Head protects the user from recoil, not every Pokemon has that ability and it really sucks if you False Swipe a Pokemon to 1 hp then it kills itself with recoil, so keep this strategy in mind

I think something to clarify would be good, masuda method just requires the two pokemon to be in different languages, it doesnt matter which pokemon is what language as long as they're both different (eg, a ditto can be english as long as the other pokemon is from another language). The pokemon you're trying to breed for also doesnt have to be english, as long as its a different language from your ditto.

My first shiny in Shield was a Shuckle. Ironically I was catching Shuckle for my dex SO I could get the shiny charm. Caught in a quick ball too, so now I have a competitive shiny shuckle in a quick ball.

I was breeding Farlink's for the shiny since i had a Japanese farlinks sent to me, and during the process i ended up getting a shiny Minccino from a random battle and then after a few hours of breeding i got 2 shiny farlink's from breeding

I watched this video and decided to go use the KO method for my first ever shiny hunting adventure. I only have 165 Pokemon in the Pokedex, so no shiny charm. One hour and 24 Zigzagoons later and I got a shiny. Full Odds. I still can't believe it.

I still remembered the moment when I was just wondering around the wild area and just randomly bumped into a dottler and it somehow was a full odds shiny. That was the first and only shiny Pokemon I've gotten myself other than my shiny melmetal I got from Pokemon go.
