@@teenageapple3788 so the chain itself ONLY gives you a shiny boost every 5 encounters. The SEARCH LEVEL is the shiny boost for ALL dexnav encounters. So when you combine the 5th encounter of a chain and high search level it makes good shiny odds. So starting off with Dexnav isn’t the best but maxing out a search level will give you a permanent shiny boost anytime you Dexnav that Pokemon because of the search level. Just think of the Dexnav chain as an extra shiny boost every 5 encounters while building a chain. I’m making a video this month that explain this in detail but that’s the simple way to look at it ✨

Also my search level was still like none btw, was just starting a hunt for it when it happened. Also unfortunately it was modest lol

@@SpicySPaxz yeah you don’t NEED a high search level to find a shiny it just “helps” find the shiny. Congrats on finding it ✨

For duskull the best you can do is build a chain 5 and then start over. Building a chain to 100 is impossible 😅 just get the search level maxed out for best shiny odds

@@SmkGaming05 does the search level also reset like breaking the chain if I decide to take a break? Or will it be the same? Am I also better off trying to not chain cave encounters for the same reason 😭

@ search level stays forever. So if got 300 search level that shiny buff is forever and gets better the closer you get to 999. The dexnav chain shiny buff and search are 2 different shiny buffs. The Dexnav chain only gives you a shiny boost every 5 encounters. Search level is ALL encounters. I’m making a video this month that explains this topic in detail ✨

@@njd87 you would Dexnav for it. Max out the search level for best shiny odds and keep trying for it. Only build a Dexnav chain to 5 and run away. It’s NOT worth your time to Dexnav it in the desert for a chain past 5 it’s too difficult. That’s how you would get the shiny ✨
