Hi Dr . I just had zirconia implant noble biocare Pearl. In 5 months i will have zirconia abutment and zirconia crown. The dentist will use carbon fiber to screw the abutment to implant. But she said she will have to use cement to glue the crown to the abutment. She said there will be a hole in the crown in case we need to remove the screw to change the crown and abutment.She will fill the hole of the crown with composite. I wonder if cement will cause future health issues even if it is compatible. Why can't she use screw like you did in this video,? Is it true that she has to use cement to glue the crown to abutment instead of carbon fiber screw? What is the name of cement that does not cause harm to my health? Thank you Doctor.

Hi Doctor, It is me Thu Le again. The name of the cement that my dentist will use to glue my zirconia crown to zirconia abutment is Rely X luting cement. She said it is compatible. Does it cause health issues since cement can leach into the blood stream? Thank you.

No not at all. BPA free. That said you do not want too much cement under the soft tissue. This is why it is cemented out of the mouth.

So it is better to use cement. One more time to be clear, the cement is good? It will not cause health problems in the future like too much fluoride leaking out of cement, memory problem, etc... ?
