I've watched you do this on Hochanda and have Sew Inspired, yet it was just whilst watching this (as I have an idea in my head for a dress, based on smocked dresses from when I was little in the fifties) I thought, a short bodice of bows with a gathered skirt! Although I love traditional smocked dresses have bought them for my 7yr old granddaughter, not all young Mums like them, but I think this will give a 'modern' take for a smocked Angel Top/Tunic or dress.....yes, I know its actually traditional too, but knowing you, I think you'll get where I'm coming from! Now, if you like that idea, let me get mine done before you get one done for your granddaughter, as she's about the same age as Macey whose almost a year and 4 months! lol.....Thank you Debbie!! Again!

Oh, I forgot to say, I'll sew any pearls or other decoration on VERY well as I don't want her parents to make any emergency trips to A&E or having to keep an eye on Nappies as I don't think that would make me popular as she loves to 'investigate' everything, as they tend to do at that age!
@debbieshore7 жыл бұрын
I know exactly what you mean! I love the idea of adding the smocking to tunics and dresses, I'd maybe make them a bit smaller... I have a couple of pleaters with the intention of doing some traditional English smocking, yep, they're still in their boxes! Glad you like the shows!

Janet Rodgers I made one for my only little granddaughter and gave it to her mother. It was just gorgeous and pinched the pattern of Prince George's little shirt. Never saw it on my granddaughter d daughter, neither the knitting or other little sun dresses. Only do the odd quilt which the children love and use

When my daughter was very small (38+ years ago), I made some dresses for her with smocked front yokes and they were adorable. I haven't don't any smocking since but may try this.

what kind of fabric are you using for your cushions?
@debbieshore7 жыл бұрын
a heavy weight cotton works well, the type you'd use for curtains, the pink I was demoing with is a linen mix, most any fabric would work though...
