My favourite "old school" but more recent blues guitarist is Jimmy Vaughan (brother of the more famous SRV) on the first two Fabulous Thunderbirds albums. He plays all the same blues licks we all do but his phrasing is just that little bit different to make them sound his.

I'll be sticking with my partscaster for the time being!....Jimmy Vaughan...first two Fabulous Thunderbirds albums "Girls go wild" & "What's the word" for his best playing. Hi Alex, another great lesson. I’ve been looking at Nacho’s myself…he offers a lot of options ie pickups and wiring. I’m curious what you chose? Did you get the early 50s Broadcaster wiring and pickups or the later 50s/early sixties wiring and pickup voicings? Thanks
@AlexFarranGuitar10 ай бұрын
Hey buddy, thanks for the comment 🙏🏻 I went with the 50’s pickups, but with the “late 67 wiring” where the middle position is neck and bridge in parallel. These pickups are shockingly good! I had originally chosen 60’s style pickups but Nacho himself said he felt once fitted, they were too bright for this guitar so I trusted his advice and switched to the 50’s pickups.. very glad I did! 👌🏻
