I'm pretty sure 'Smoke Free' meant no smoke in your face as you use it. And really, that's the only thing that matters to Mama when she's cooking! Good design work in working with things that are close at hand. It works, so it's all goooooood!

I thought this video was showing how to make a very efficient burning stove where no visible smoke is produced. I did not expect to see a stove with a chimney to carry away the smoke. Good video though.

People who use electricity to wash dishes and clothes, vaccum floors, cooking gas, gas guzzling cars, plastic packaging on anything including cut veggies and complaining about a guy in some far off place trying to find a method of cooking for people who can't afford any of these. You can't see the irony, can you?

It is super simple to make a hot wire cutter. youll just need a 10W usb charger, some wood or pvc pipe for the frame, some screws and possibly a spring, and a single strand of wire out of a stainless steel picture hanging wire. it makes Styrofoam forming so easy!!! dm me if you need help making the cutter. please use this idea for a video if you would like.

Somebody has never seen concrete blow up when it gets hot in a fire
@timypp28943 жыл бұрын
Nope... I don't think you know what your are talking about. So a factory, building etc built from concrete will explode if they have a fire in the premises ? You know there are safety regulations for buildings materials...

@willo88563 жыл бұрын
I've always been told that concrete would explode in this situation as well . Something to do with tiny air pockets?
@timypp28943 жыл бұрын
For it to "explode" you need the air pockets to expand million of times it's original size in rapid expansion less than a million of a second. From Boyles law you can see what temperature is needed for "expansion". The answer is "millionth" And the temperature of the stove? This is how gun powder works - high speed decomposition of a solid to a gas. And for "high explosives" they are even faster decomposition and more volume. What's wrong with people, just look at the video.
@infoanorexic3 жыл бұрын
I had to keep reminding myself that it said "wood stove" when he started forming the cement. It really does look like something you'd see in a little block house at the State Park. It appears to work well enough, though. I guess you'd have to use a castable foundry cement? It's not for hauling on a trail, but it would be great for an outdoor summer kitchen or field kitchen. Well, small field kitchen. I wouldn't expect Cowboy Kent Rollins to give up Big Bertha over one of these. Anyone that tries this, warm it up nice and slow on the first fire. Be sure all moisture is driven out before getting it super hot, or the result could be catastrophic.

The chimney accelerates the suction of the gas to help the combustion Resulting in higher efficiency So less smoke The longer the chimney, the higher the efficiency. But fit is essential The overall weight of the stove should be considered less.🤔
@cptcarot3 жыл бұрын
So you oil up some parts to help get them out with the aid of not water. I understand that the wire used is for structural strength. What do you add the little stones into the cement for? Is it normal cement mix or something special to deal with the heat?

Hi All, The smoke you see coming out of the stack is from the motor oil they spread on the bucket so that it could be removed. It should burn off in 15 minutes or so. After that there should be no visable smoke. Thanks, take care.

A follow up video would help prove that. Several similar "smoke free" videos show smoke. Seems like a way to get more views.

The only problem I see with it is using galvanized steel for the chimney. That’ll put off some really nasty poison gases.
@timypp28943 жыл бұрын
??? What? I think carbon monoxide is poisonous.. And it's not from the chimney material.
@duffahtolla3 жыл бұрын
@@timypp2894 The steel is galvanized with zinc. Once the tube gets hotter than 392F it will give off zinc fumes and could start making nearby people sick. Google "Metal Fume Fever" for the symptoms and treatment.
@timypp28943 жыл бұрын
@@duffahtollaok fair enough... But eventually there's only so much zinc to burn off.
@duffahtolla3 жыл бұрын
@@timypp2894 Sure, after a few years there may be no more zinc left, but then the steel will be susceptible to rust. In the meantime, not only your lungs, but also any food you prepare will be laced with toxic heavy metals. It's just not worth it. If you are going to use a single wall pipe, just use stainless steel.

I'm just going to make a square one out of a Ben and I'm not going to use styrofoam and all that I'm just going to use some old cans that I can leave in there. I'm going to use the elbow and just leave it embedded in there and leave it stick out a bit so I can just stick the chimney on top of it. Even the air intake at the bottom I have an old metal can from charcoal starter that I'm going to use.
