Smoked RATTLESNAKE Stuffed with RABBIT and HOT SAUSAGE

There's a Snake in my boot! Er, smoker! Rattlesnake is often consumed fried but it's also worth trying it smoked. If you like to eat stuff like gator or frog legs, you'll love Rattlesnake. Wanted to make this special so I chopped up a Rabbit and mixed it in with some hot pork sausage and banana peppers for a stuffing to add some tasty fat. Let's get to it!

Now this is a very interesting cook. I’ve had rattlesnake before, a long time ago when I was a kid. It was little pieces of snake meat in soup. I remember thinking it was really good. So, where does one get rattlesnake meat? Mike, the finished dish looked really good I’d definitely eat that! Thanks for sharing such a unique video.

That’s awesome ! Bet it’s really good in soup, I’ll have to try that. Remember by any chance what else was in it? Glad you liked the cook! Trappers in the southwest usually sell them (this is a southwestern diamondback) or if you’re feeling adventurous you can get them online !

Come to Waurika, Oklahoma we have a annual rattlesnake hunt. Waurika is in Jefferson county and the southern border is on the Red River which separates Oklahoma from Texas. Rattlesnake hunting is not that common but this particular area is known to have a lot of them. The hunt has been going on for years. I can remember going when I was in first grader. I'm now 56. That's 50 years right there. My father hunt with his brothers when he was younger so that would make it over a 50 yearr tradition. You can hang around and ride rides see all the craft workers & eat at at all the food vendors. They have a few vendors that sell rattlesnake meat. You'll also see some Native American who have their beadworks to sell. Watch the teams come in. The officials will weigh & measure them. It's basically similar to a fishing tournament. Not sure if that helped but you can Google it to see when the next Hunt is scheduled.
