Roberto Gonzalez love it. This is the only pellet grill I’ve owned, so I can’t compare to other pellet grills, but I have been very happy with my Traeger. No complaints. Literally just finished a 21 hour brisket smoke. For me, the 575 is plenty of space. I recommend the shelf.

Man love my 575 pro. I just did big rack by ribs at 275F slow cooking, 275F for 2 hours directly on the grill and 2 hours in foil and this was like anything I’ve ever tasted. I used apple tree wood, man that was something extremely good.
@okiepita50t-town2811 ай бұрын
I have had my 575 for about 2 years now and just love it. The grill grates he mentioned work fantastically well and you can use either side on them depending on what you are cooking or if you want the entire surface of the steak crusted as opposed to just the cross hatch grill marks. They also help to reduce flare ups nicely. It is so convenient and almost impossible to screw up a cook.

Got this grill as a gift for my 50th year on the planet. I've been playing the poor man's electric smoker with cheap wood chips on a hot iron and lava rock that doesn't have any temp guages. Still works great. But now I'm thrusted into the big time. I've already got the grill primed, and it's out on the patio sucking down the latest update for 4 hours. Thanks for the video man - this is a game changer.

Hi Steve; Robert from Backyard BBQ and Grill in Puerto Rico. first of all great video. The reason pellets grill doesn’t allows you to turn on the grill is for safety, sometimes the grill fire box could get clogged with pellets and create a big fire. Always is good to be present at that exact startup moment.

As a recent 575 owner, couple other things not noted: Traeger's pellets are very meh for smoking. I've found that a few other brands work better for it. For additional smoke flavor, a smoke tube is 100% worth the investment. It made a significant difference. Keep an eye on how much in pellets you're using. There's a moderate amount of regular maintenance required due to having to empty out the pot. They say 20 hours, but this will depend on your outdoor temperature and how many pellets it has to chew through. Changing pellets or emptying when going a week plus between cooks is kind of a hassle for two reasons. First, the pellet chute is directly above the wheel meaning you have to awkwardly hold the bucket (I'm designing a 3D print to magnetically attach using a flexible duct to fix this). Second, the grate on the inside that's there to prevent pellets tunneling requires a long handled spoon or spatula to move pellets to the chute as it gets low, which you have to do while holding the bucket. Other than that, I do recommend the heat proof blanket and the shelf. I'm smoking in the Midwest winter in near or sub zero wind chill temps and it doesnt have huge temp swings.

I sincerely appreciate your honest and thoughtful review of this grill. I found your identification of the two types of person considering whether to purchase a Traeger grill, or not, MOST helpful. I believe I am like you, where the price of a Traeger grill is an investment, requiring considerable thought, before taking the plunge. I purchased a Masterbuilt smoker, rather large 40” model, and made smoked Turkey for Thanksgiving, for a couple of years. I put my Turkey in it this year and as soon as I set the temperature and time, it popped the GFS plug. I attempted 3 - 4 times then gave up and cooked it in my oven. Attempting to get ANY support from Masterbuilt was futile. Despite the smoker only being about 3 years old, I dropped it off at the landfill. I am hoping a Traeger grill can cook and smoke a Turkey, and produce lots of quality foods. One thing I saw on another reviewers page, for the Traeger 575 grill, listed as a shortcomings are the additional costs of items, such as the Grill shelve to attach to the front of the grill to hold your prepared food (your picture does not appear that you have this shelf - but I could be wrong), a Grill Cover (which most should have to protect this investment) or any utensil holder. As a side note, prior to listening to your review, I reviewed KZbin clips on the Traeger page, and found some of the most detailed, and best produced videos of how to change various parts of each of their grills. I am not mechanically inclined, and don’t want to be, but I believe even I could change most components of a Traeger 575 grill WHEN, not IF, they need replacing. Thank you for producing such a great review. Your review has helped me make my decision. Kind Regards. Joe

To cut a VERY long story short, after an issue with my Pro22, they replaced the fan, and after a couple of days, the grill went down again! This time they decided to replace the grill for NEW! , result!. But that's not the end, I asked if I could upgrade to the Pro 575 and pay the difference? Their reply was, Yes this could be done AT NO EXTRA COST! incredible service! At this moment, it's on its way, what more can I say!

Just bought one of these. I purchased another brand that you all would be familiar with, but it wasn't a Traeger. In about 13 months, I went through two controllers and two auger motors. After I complained and was on record doing so multiple times, the company gave me a complete refund, which in turn I purchased the Pro 575 (for about $300 more than the crap smoker before). So far, go good. You truly get what you pay for. For me, Traeger means peace of mind and no hassle to make it work, day in and day out. P.S...... if you want more smoke, use a smoker tube. Add pellets of your choice and blow torch to start. You can smoke for 5 hours with this one simple tube. Amazon sells them for $12.

The delivery and free set up alone was worth it. I was all in for 541 and some change. I feel like this was a great price for the 575. Also, I will add what is the difference between the all black versus the same unit with the bronze cover. Is this simply aesthetics? One more thing, I don’t think the grill is heavy at all. I must be really strong or something because it’s very easy to move around and I would not say this grill is heavy. Definitely looks like it could be to transport. By the way, great video!

One of the reasons why some pellegrill manufacturers don't let you start the smoker through Wi-Fi is cuz of a fire sometimes people have a cover on their grill and they might forget and if they start it up it could cause a fire so it's more of a liability thing.

Great video! I would also like the idea of the Traeger App updating to have the "history" with pics, location, outdoor temp and what type of meat and have a note section for it, kinda of like the Samsung health app when you do a run, it would track it all and you could add lots to the history of that run etc. The reason for the Traegers not starting up from the app is a large safety feature that we will probably never see. Great video, thanks for sharing.

Steve, John here. The cook went great last night! Went "plain" on the chicken, just hickory smoked at 175 for 50 minutes. Delicious outcome. Starting to get the hang of it. You are spot on is the lack of sear marks on the food. It made me doubt the chicken was done when the probe read 160F. You have to trust the probe. Holding off on buying another accessory (ie. Grill Grates for the time being). Regarding the Traeger app, how do you update to the firmware version released on 5/18/20 (02.01.02)? This enables you to have cook up to 500F, which might allow sear marks to appear or at give you a great chance for that to happen? Also, does anyone have the issue of not have their timer give an audible alarm with time expires?

How does the Traeger 575 hold temps in cold weather? I’ve heard the grill box is not insulated which would make it harder to maintain temps and burn more fuel trying to keep the temps where they need to be when the outside temperature is below freezing. Thanks.

@@Billy-qh3vp they have a thermal blanket for 34 F and below, says on the website to only use it for temps 34 and below. I just got 575, don't have the blanket so I will find out how well it does in the winter without the blankets. If I need them, I will order. Looking forward to it, also will be nice to moniter through the app during the winter

Awesome video thank you sir. I’m a stick burner smoker, just purchased the 575 my only complaint is it doesn’t smoke like the stick burner. But customer support said that it will still have the smoke flavor we shall soon find out.💨💪

@@techsolutions8454Bought one of these a week ago and I was concerned by the lack of visible and smell of smoke. When “grilling” at higher temps and shorter cook times, I’ve found that the smoke flavor is minimal, but it does give the meat a smoke ring. When I used it at “smoking” temps, it still did not produce much smoke or smell which concerned me, but the end result turned out great. Overall, I’m glad I bought this, but will consider adding a smoke tube like everyone recommends.

I don't grill a lot but thinking if I get something like this grill I would do more. Saw the pro 22 and wondered if that would be a good choice or buy bigger in case I do use more. Just my wife and me and don't usually have guests. I understand that the 22 doesn't have wifi but if I'm correct set the temperature and just check on when the meat comes up to temperature, right? Great video thanks.
@SmokeTrailsBBQ3 жыл бұрын
Yep pretty much. The wifi just lets you remote monitor and control the temp from your phone
@davidhunt41293 жыл бұрын
Can always get a thermometer with probe that connects to wifi and you're phone. You can't control the temp or anything, but you can see the meat temp on your phone. One of mine is a "Pro-grade" thermometer from Amazon for $20ish. I've been using it for 3 years with no issue. I found someone nearby that was unhappy with the Traeger Pro 22 model simply because of not having the wifire...I scored the smoker+cover for $300 a few days ago and jumped on it. Just saying there are options for having meat Temps on your phone without needing the upgraded Traeger

@@davidhunt4129 to be honest I'm lazy and wouldn't want to tend the temperature on the grill. Still thinking about my options, thanks.
@davidhunt41293 жыл бұрын
@@johnaustin2276 well friend, really any respectable name brand pellet grill is as lazy as it gets. You should go out and experience a 12 to 14 hour cook starting at midnight and put split wood or coals in a fire box every 15-25 minutes and constantly checking and maintaining grill Temps with opening and closing air flow....THAT is work haha. I'm only looking at reviews because I'd like some smoked meat when I don't have the time to sit outside all night and morning. These pellet grills basically maintain their own Temps and we're only required to check on it every once in a while. I'm haven't experienced the pellet "bridging" yet, but from my understanding that is the only out-of-your-hands/uncontrollable issue with a pellet grill (the pellets clogging up inside the auger). Hope you find what your looking for. The traegers offer longevity. The pit boss and others price comparable brands tend to last 5-ish years then start breaking down, you hear and read all the awesome reviews of the Traegers, millions of people saying similar stuff about then have to be on to something

Definitely want to get this model. Still doing research since it will be a gift for my dad who loves to grill (he’s a professional chef) so don’t want to get him one that will be the wrong kind he would like. But watching this has me thinking of the Letterkenny scene of debating on how to best grill a stake. Might be the hint of Canadian accent lol

Just watched your video: How much wood pellets does it use? How often do you need to buy more pellets? How do COLD winter temp affect the technology and temp gauge? Thanks!
@SmokeTrailsBBQ4 жыл бұрын
Depends what temp you are cooking at and how often you use it. A bag lasts me about 2 brisket cooks (12 hours each). I cook ALOT (as you would expect from a bbq youtube channel) so I go through 3 bags a month. Not sure how cold weather affects it yet but I'll let you know in a few months
