Smokey engine Spitfire departure at Duxford.

A Genuine Dunkirk veteran Spitfire Mk1a N3200 joined 19 Squadron based at RAF Duxford 19th April 1940.On the 27th May 1940 whilst involved with operations to protect the evacuation at Dunkirk the aircraft was hit and force landed on the beach at Sangatte. The wreck was discovered in 1986 and restored in the UK it flew again in 2014 and was donated to the IWM at Duxford.

Yes possibly I’m no expert. Reminds me of the dats we used to put Redex additives into our car fuel tanks and drive off down the road laying a smoke screen behind us😀
