ReeRee Phillips I agree! the more people talking about it and bringing awareness to it I think is really helping the community. it's so nice to see! ♡

Totally. I get cruelty-free as much as possible. I use Ecotools brushes with recycled aluminum and bamboo handles, which are relatively inexpensive, very eco-friendly and vegan, and have great coverage (and they are really soft). It's great to have more options with the makeup itself, and ReeRee's professional expertise that she generously gives to us for next to nothing.

When you were talking about brushes it reminded me of my mentor, when I went vegan she kept telling me that I couldn't use synthetic hair brushes for powder... These days there are amazing synthetic brizzles there's no need to use animals + you are the absolute blending queen!

So helpful! Contouring for eyes is always tricky, and many of the Gothic classic eyeshadow styles tends to look odd on my eyes as they are shaped much more like yours, where it looks perfect until you close them slightly and then your eyes turn into odd slits - not in a pretty snake way but in a suddenly peculiar way. Thank you for the very specific advice!

Lovely look for you. It helps that your eyes are a bit bigger than you perceive, I’m assuming, and your hoods aren’t as heavy as many. You also have outstanding facial features overall, so that’s a genuine bonus. 🖤 Have always had heavy hoods (single lid as a toddler, then developed lid/hood as I aged), and now that I’ve cracked the half century mark, my hoods are heavy enough that I feel them applying pressure to my sparse, stubby lashes. I’ve also always had crepey lids, and that seriously interferes with false lashes and precise eye looks. I’m like Azura below in that my eyes are deep set into my head, but unlike Azura, my eyes are not large. Since I was a girl I described my eyes as dead pig eyes. They’re actually almond as well, but the way my hood drapes, it clips the eye shape at the outer corners. I tend to open up my eyes more in photos these days because of it. Fortunately, my eyes are a bit wider than average, so even though there isn’t much lid to brow area, I don’t look to closed in. As I’ve aged, however, I’ve found that putting dark colours on my lid actually cause my eyes to recede even more, so I don’t do that. Being that I have a fairly broad face, I don’t want that to happen. My eyes need to look bigger. If I do a look like yours above, I definitely have to do it in lighter colours such as brown, plum, or grey (think of face & eyes that are a mashup of Daphne Zuniga & Lucy Lawless). On a tangent, I ought to go through your boots reviews, and read comments. Since breaking my ankle in December of 2004, I can no longer wear platforms or heels. I can wear shorty cowboy boots, when my ankle isn’t swollen & stuff, and I can wear lace up boots with a modest heel, but that’s it. I have a pair of black brogue boots by Hudson that I adore (Sherwin - perfect, straight out of the box), and have had for six years now, so it would be nice to find some boots which cost half that which don’t render me disabled due to poor design. I treat my Hudson boots like my fine china, so they aren’t worn daily. I’d love to find some every day boots. Thanks for sharing.
