I saw Smokey in DC about 7 or 8 years ago when they were honoring him at the Kennedy Center. We got to hear the school of the arts sing all his songs then he came on and did his favorite songs. It was a long night but it was worth every minute. Love Smokey.

I had tickets to the Choctaw Casino in Durant, Oklahoma and I invited my Sister and Brother to a Smokey Robinson concert .. Smokey is like a rare time piece that keeps on ticking .. All those beautiful songs written and sung by one of the greatest artist of all time . He was there from Motown’s birth and there he was in front of us. How lucky I was to be friends with the Great Bob Pate who has gone on to join all those in heaven . Bob was Native American Choctaw Tribal Council , he believed in helping people in all types of ways. It was cause of him we seen some of the greatest .. So this morning I started on Tiny Desk featuring Smokey and then when I finished it showed another concert with Smokey. I clicked on and I said I’m just going to listen to a couple songs .. Well once I started listening I couldn’t stop .. You talk about one of the greatest concerts ever with some greatest memorable songs ever played by some greatest musicians assembled on stage. Smokey is like staring at a historical musical journey to take you way back there to my younger days. A small wood frame house on a dirt road, hot summer days, sounds of locust from the trees, and that record player ? WOW? For those who go back six decades you know what I’m talking bout.. and if you get a chance to see him live like we did, you’ll be singing and dancing and standing to every song. God bless you Smokey you’re captain of the ship and we’re riding along on ever song . Just to see her I forgot about that .. okay I’m out .. I can't take my eyes off Smokey! Smoking as usual, from the time he started out, now and forever. I agree he is and always a humble man, who wrote so many songs for other artists and he could have kept them for himself. He is a fine, super fine in all the sense of the word! This is such a joy watching him,I feel like I am there, I wish. Back in my day, I grew up with Motown, the best music ever, in high school so many days over and over the fellows would sing and practice, "OOH BABY BABY"!. I couldn't wait to get my break and do hear them, and they did a fantastic job. They had to make every note perfect. Whereas, Smokey is flawless and ooh baby, baby! Love him forever. He has such a nice personality among so many fine qualities. Love him so much, and this video is so spot on. He makes my heart melt.
