0:04 Well yeah Superman killed Zod here and all, but he told Zod to stop and he didn't want to kill him and Superman had no choice but to do it. And Zod told him while fighting that "There's one way this ends Kal either you die or I do" that settle it right there and Zod said that he wasn't going to stop killing too "These people you have adopted I'm going to take them all from you one by one" If you want to call Snyder's Superman a murder, then you might as well say Christopher Reeves is because he killed Zod without care and even Superman killed him and his soldiers in the comics as well.
@Xo-3130 Жыл бұрын
Plus Superman has been forced a few times to actually kill someone. He isn't Batman whose no kill policy is absolute. Its near absolute with the caveat that if forced to he will kill someone if no other way is available.
@Fenris30 Жыл бұрын
You're wasting your time, to these Guys Superman must be a pure untainted Snowflake. Personally I prefer a Superman who willing to kill to protect people just as much as he's willing to die to protect them because a Superman willing to kill will survive to protect more people then one who's just willing to die.
@infinityalbi98402 күн бұрын
If you guys like a Superman that kills, that's perfectly fine... but it misses the point of the character. Superman and Batman are meant to be paragons, the people we aspire to be; not because of their powers, but because of their kindness. Sure, most people absolutely would have snapped Zod's neck at that situation, but Superman? The whole point of his existence is that he would have found another way. A better way. He doesn't put his morals above people's lives, he just always finds a better solution. I would suggest you hunt down "What's So Funny about Truth, Justice and the American Way" or its animated adaptation "Superman vs. The Elite" for a thurough deep-dive into Superman as a character.

Not a fan of this. Would've much preferred if Superman was just always a puppet of Darkseid as we see Superman/Darkseid's army invade Earth with a Superman-less Justice League. Instead Superman becomes a good guy halfway through this story completely destroying it's premise.
@kredl7563 жыл бұрын
To be perfectly honest, I think this is peak comic ideal. Why? Instead of a cheap premise the passive character faces changes that shocks him to his core and makes him into a more of an active character.
@MacDarf3 жыл бұрын
@@kredl756 yes thatnis very good stuff, I'm just saying that someone raised by Darkseid should be a villain to a Justice League story. My argument is that Superman shouldn't be the protagonist, but an antagonist.

@@prouddegenerates9056 I'm not a fan of evil Superman stories, I think they're over done and I'm a big fan of heartwarming Superman stories like this. They're pleasant and wonderful and I wish more modern mainstream Superman media would treat hom with this same aspect. But a What If inspired elseworld story (like a DCeased) with a different Darkseid finding and raising Kal to use him in the quest for the Anti-Life equation, only to invade Earth and learn of the possibloty of it being there and for the other heroes to have to fight Superman AND Darkseid, without the hope of redeeming Superman (because they don't know him and Superman has no connection to them and vice versa). That's the only Evil Superman story I'd be okay with. It kinda feels like the into Evil Superman story that interests me is one of the few Good Superman stories and it's just mildly upsetting.
@prouddegenerates90563 жыл бұрын
@@MacDarf I don't like most superman stories, but I like ones where his character is what makes him special or he teaches a lesson, like all star super man when he shows the viilans what it's like to he treated like they treat people, only for him to reveal nobody was actually hurt. @@akiraeatsguitarpicks491 You got to remember this one is a more realistic Superman for our time. He grew up having to hide himself and hold back his whole life after constantly being bullied. Yes he killed Zod because that was the only way to stop him for good. Sure he could've turned his head but what if someone else was in the path he turned his head too or just turn his head back or risk getting loose in the process? Fly him away? What's to prevent him from just running back to the museum in superspeed and trying to heat vision the family again or someone else? Phantom drive is gone as it was sucked in with the rest of the Kryptonians. No jail will obviously hold him. More people would die if they continued with their fight with Zod most likely intentionally doing so. Superman had a no win scenario here and had to make a tough call. Also have to remember it's his 1st day as Superman. He showed remorse after having to do so when he screamed, now Reeve's Superman, killed Zod with a smile and comic Superman has killed too.
