I work at Steak ‘n Shake and this is spot on. The only thing missing is the savory seasoning we use, I have no idea what’s in it but it is like a drug. I’ve been trying to find out the recipe for a while.

Steak ‘n Shake recipe for savory seasoning is garlic and onion power, paprika , salt , sugar, turmeric, dried parsley flakes, black pepper and olive oil.

Going heads up with big companies and showing them up like this is how people mysteriously go missing! So youtubers if he goes missing he either got a big check to stop what he's doing or Steak 'n Shake CEO told his lesser's to "take care of him"! But on a more serious note this video is nothing less than what I expected from the culinary Batman I've been watching for about two years now! Thumbs up as always! (And due to the fact you didn't use mayo!!!! Big plus)

Hey I work at a Steak 'n Shake and our burgers come with mayo and mustard too! And we use a savory seasoning for our burgers! That seasoning you have is what a lot of people put on fries! We don't use that one you have to season the patties! But overall I'd say you have it down perfectly!
@SmokyRibsBBQ7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I mentioned that you can get mayo or mustard, or how ever you want it, but when I was served I asked for a Double n Cheese and didn't request anything different and all I got was ketchup. I really couldn't detect any kind of seasoning blend on the burger that I got here at our Steak n Shake, but even if I would have, I wouldn't have had a clue what they use, so salt and pepper it was, and I can honestly say, it was better than what they served me, and looked more like what they show in their photos of this burger. Someone in my live feed told me they used salt and pepper, and I was already thinking the same thing, so that's what I went with. Overall very close to their burger. Thanks for watching!
@ArmoredSaint636 жыл бұрын
What seasoning is that?

@Rod Fogle its literally sourdough bread, with two slices of cheese, one on each slice of bread, butter the outside of the bread, and toast that side until its golden. Thats all

Au Contrare [sp?] This exactly the real steaks Steak and Shaake uses. Russ is honest about the % Mix. Rus next time sit at the counter and watch all the grill activity. @SmokyRibsBBQ7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I figured their patties are shipped in frozen, thawed then cooked. More of a fast food joint even though they don't claim to be. Freezing never does anything good for meat, I'm sure it's just a system to supply all the chains the perishable products in bulk and eliminating any in house grinding of meat which would slow things way down at a place like this. All fast food places get most of their product sent in frozen. Thanks, I appreciate it!

That looked like a great burger. We have Culver's and they have a very similar burger. Their commercials say they also use 3 cuts, Sirloin, Chuck and plate. Not sure what plate is, but their burgers are super good. I agree, there is nothing complicated about making a great burger at home. But gotta have the right ground beef. Chuck if freshly ground usually does the trick for me. A Sirloin and Chuck blend is also a good choice.
