Is there a way to avoid the balloons? Also whats the purpose of the light switches in the last level?

You can side step the balloons or use them to lure in entities to clear up pathways. The light switches may be used to hide from leeches spawned by the tenant or random spawning entities. The last level is a bit buggy but the devs are cleaning things up.

They made it a lot easier now, you can use objects and throw them at balloons, side stepping is a lot easier too as they nerfed the hitbox
