Absolutely stellar track and you have some great creative writing of modal progressions, and excellent tempo for 24th note triplets and 32nd note furious flying.. I don't know if you ever get visual impressionistic thoughts while writing and performing but when jamming over this, I can't help but get a impresion of space and peaceful twilight, then" Bam" a fire blazing comet rips through the night fabric of space in a triumphant motion.. lydian 4 = creative, 4=suspension of 3or 5 in harmony classically & historically, 4 th creation o space, planets suspension in space day of play a sus 4 chord Chord floating type of sound . Aeolian minor type of tonality, 6 classically thought and tought 6 day creation of man, also relative to 1 Ionian major parent key and resolve and mirror of 1 in sense of structure importance and colorful motion to harmony, parallelism of major and minor importance of harmonic function and even though #7 to 1 is most definitive resolution harmony would be colorless without 4 sub dominant and,6 relative minor those are the strongest colors of motion in the entire palate of diatonic harmony in my humble opinion anyways.. Life of tone would truly suck without those 2 .. # ,4, and flat or minor 6 flavors, colors, senses, motions, church keys and a ton of other theoretical interpretation... 7 days in a week, and historically classically creation, If you Solo over it use a whole tone augmented and whatever theoretical interpretation is given lol, ,6 whole steps.. and it sounds like a Robot or comet bouncing around in space against ,,, Lydian vamp.

One of my favorite jam tracks! So fun to jump from E to pushing that A lydian sound at almost any moment! Perfectly ambiguous, but, still a carries strong harmonic movement. The harmonic rhythm is just right. It's a real great base for a number of different melodies.

@bradwatson267

Very nice. I feel like I was pulled more towards the B mix scale instead, as that A didn't feel like it was resolving quite the way that I thought it should. But no worries, great track!
@PeachtreeGuitar
@PeachtreeGuitar 3 жыл бұрын
A Lydian and B Mixolydian actually are comprised of the same 7 notes. You could also play an E major scale over this or a C# minor scale. All the same 7 notes. What makes it sound resolved depends on the active chord at the time. If you land on a chord tone (notes that comprise the chord) it sounds resolved. You can also land on a tension 9, 11 or 13 to change the active chord quality as long as its complementary. But if you land on a non-chord tone or sour tension, then it sounds unresolved or dissonant instead of consonant. The safe landing notes for each lick change every time the chord changes. You can either go left or right brain to nail a consonant note for each active chord.
@CarlosNaranjoMUSICCHANNEL
@CarlosNaranjoMUSICCHANNEL 3 жыл бұрын
@@PeachtreeGuitar that's the point ;) But as the B is the key note indeed, should be understood as a B mixolydian instead A Lydian. The problem here is the 'guitaristic' way of thinking about patterns but not the music!

Hmm I kept playing in C#m pentatonic, C# of course being the raised 4th that gives Lydian mode it's "feel".
@ClearWaterRising
@ClearWaterRising Жыл бұрын
@@johng2880 C# is not the raised 4th in this scale. The D# or Eflat is the raised 4th/flat5. But the C# minor scale fits because it has all the same notes as A lydian.
@WillMarianiMusic

I agree. This feels more like B mixo. Even though A Lydian shares the same notes as B mixo, B mixi's chord tones feel more organic over this progression. Still a great backing track and fun to play over.

well yea e major is the parent scale... but idea is that you start on A Lydian as jump off point to modulate even deeper and add more flavor on top of it with A being the tonic... if you just fiddle E major .. i mean yea you can do that you're cheating only yourself as far exploration goes
@KevinToine
@KevinToine 3 жыл бұрын
The notes of E major are the same but it's not good to think like that because you're not playing Lydian. A Lydian is A major with the raised 4th, in this case a D #. Playing and thinking in A lydian will make it sound way better because you're playing along with the backingtrack. Focus on the A major arpeggios and especially on the D#, the Lydian note.

@@beyond_Thesun Yes it's definitely A lydian. Lydian mode is very unstable because of the tritone between the tonic and the #4 intervals so it can be confusing because there is no such a strong feeling of resolution. But here is all the strange and beautiful feeling of the Lydian ;) ! By the way, C#sus2 is totally a modal chord that fit the third degree of the Lydian mode ! Great backing track !
