Incredible. Arnett Cobb is one of my all-time favorite tenor players. He could do with one note what few others could do with a million notes. A true soul master who's solos are like a preacher's sermon without words!

Right, there is more music in one note played by Arnett Cobb or Illinois Jacquet and Ike Québec than in a million played by James Carter or Chris Potter

Yes, well and it is much much harder to really "SAY IT" in a solo with 5 notes instead of 25 notes but only a handful have ever had that gift. Lou Donaldson is another guy that doesn't get the credit for his amazing gift. To play a few notes with soul and meaning and really sing.....that takes discipline, skill and depth of soul to produce.
