I do the same with my son. Every day on the way to the bus stop or the shops we invariably pick up a few pieces of plastic and walk the 100m to the nearest recycling bin. If we can do it, why can't the Cro Magnons who drop them?

I do a lot of desert survival in arizona. The area i used to go to was this canyon area and it wasn't very popular. It was perfect. Then 2 years ago some off road clubs started showing up and bringing shooters with them. I'm not against guns or shooting. However, the area up top is littered with shells and casings i hate it. 4 miles up the way is a popular shooting spot and you can see the impact. Nothing grows now because of the heavy metals, lead, and other toxins from bullet and target debris :/
@PackRunner36 жыл бұрын
If I go shooting our family's rule is take more than you brought in, as an attempt to do our part we bring 2 paint bucket sized pails. Fill one with our casings and shells, once we fill it we stop shooting and fill the other 2 with debris nearby and either give our targets to the next shooters, trash them, or just use reusable targets

I'm glad that things have changed in my part of the US as much as they have. When I was a kid people would just throw large volumes of trash out of their car windows as they drove down the road. These days that sort of behavior is completely unacceptable. It doesn't mean that nobody litters - my kids and I clean up the beach down the road every time we're there - but the quantity is so much less.

Me and a friend went to a new location in the peak district to explore the woods. it was filled with rubbish everywhere, totally ruined the scenery and made the place look awful. The idiots that did it however did leave two big shopping bags, which we cleaned off and then filled with all the rubbish we could find which we took back to the car when we left. People need to realise how fragile nature is and how we should treasure it. Not Trash It. And you guys are spot on, ESPECIALLY in Europe, where the natural places are small and becoming smaller. Education is the first step in these sort of things, teaching children the enjoyment of the outdoors, but also responsibility in the outdoors. Great message, and a great video. Why cant we drink rum in the forest, and then take the bottle with us? :D

Good video Julius to remind us human slobs that we really don't have to be slobs. I see it every time I go to the woods.; places I use to camp as a young man...trashed. One spot got so bad the Forest Service closed it. When I go fly fishing I make it a point to pick up trash as I go along the stream and pick it up in my net on the way back in. I fish in some of the most gorgeous country you can imagine....and there is trash everywhere. How in the hell can someone throw anything down and trash the place? It amazes me. I think our Wildlife and Fisheries Dept. should allocate some serious funds for Public Service Announcements to help educate the slob masses on proper outdoor etiquette and behavior......much like this video. Thanks for making a difference. The 15 down votes are likely the slobs who trash the place.

Excellent message again Julian. I'm an American living in Japan. In America there is trash all over in nature but, here in Japan people are more conscious of their waste. Don't see trash in nature here. Japanese people use cloth shopping bags not plastic. Plastic bags cost 3 yen each, minimum. All supermarkets and convenient stores have multiple recycle bins outside. My folks in Florida STILL do not separate their recyclables. It drives me insane. Humans are a part of nature so let's act like it. Keeping the forest free of trash is like having good personal hygiene.
