He didn't pretend to have an injured leg too much, right. However, unless the injury is really serious (preventing any movement), it is quite possible to look and perform "un-injured" in the first moments. The body has its ways to deal with the stress, to enable you to escape the immediate dangerous situation - people in extreme situations probably quite often do not realize how badly they were hurt in the first couple of minutes. (Endorphins, adrenalin...). In this case, the numbing effect of cold water could in a way help with that as well. From my personal experience: I was seriously wounded myself "in the wild". My body did all it could to get me back near people, to get help. No serious pain at first; I (instinctively?) knew I need to keep moving as long as I can. Only when I finally got to a hospital, the body "gave up" on playing "the tough guy" and, as if you cut the strings of a puppet, I suddenly became a "helpless child".THEN the pain came as well, in great intensity. Only at the moment when there were other people around, ready to take care of me. Yes, quite a remarkable experience, still quite fresh (in a way) in my memory even after more than 20 years. :) BTW, our bodies are a great "piece of work", wonderful machines - cherish and appreciate yours! :)

It is so funny. The shock makes it look like you are on mushrooms. One dude running around in his underwear. Other one in leggings standing on a spaceblanket with a camera in his hand trying to get focused on his task of hanging frozen clothes with one hand on a flimsy stick above a fire. I respect the hell out of you guys doing this, but i laughed my ass off. Smooth gefixt ouwe!

Confusion is a sign of hypothermia. Where did I put x, am I limping because I'm supposed to be injured, irritability, etc., AAAND trying to film it all! Wow. Shows how hard it must be even when you have it all planned out!😯

Great effort guys, well done! It's very telling how cold and a sense of urgency can fray nerves and cause people to get a sort of tunnel vision on trying to get one specific task done (fire in this case) and at the expense of other tasks like taking the time to set wet clothing out to dry in a stable, effective and safe manner (sorry about your melted gear!), or bring the tarp into effective use. The change in your focus was light and day as you both warmed up. A valuable lesson that I'm very happy to learn through you 😉

Yea its funny to see the footage back and think: what the he.. why arent i doing this? but really the adrenaline and the shock want to take over your 'common sense' Another vital key of this challenge to 'practise' stuff like this;) Cheers. Dylan

Some very good lessons here from you guys. Well done! Couple points I learned are: 1) Hey tall guy - get the fire going big time and get warm first.....together. 2) Get a decent amount of firewood 3) Build clothes racks and think through the design. You almost burned your clothes several times. 4) Set the tarp in the best place and use half of it for the ground and half as a reflector shield. 5) Lay clothes out on the rack to dry. Get fully warmed up and clothes on their way to dry. 6) Talk through best design for shelter 7) Build shelter. Great video guys. I appreciate how you show it all - the good, the bad and the ugly.

Not sure how many people caught it but I love the sarcasm in the disclaimer. “Going outside is completely at own risk” is hilarious. On a serious note, we need this kind of inspiration for the indoor generations that are being domesticated and factorised. Get outside people, take care of your immune systems and learn to be human beings again. Don’t be so ready to sacrifice the attributes that made our evolution possible.

''..Julius shouldn't have been judged!'' That was all I was thinking about. He made the fire and then stood there, holding a camera in his hand just messing around with clothes while you fed the fire to keep him warm. But of course ''It is easy to not be as efficient as desired in situations like this!'' because you're both basically in shock. You're fighting your instincts and you handled it way better Dyllan tbh and are to be commended for it.
