Hey everyone! Thanks for watching the video. Probably should address the elephant in the room. Yes, the first clip after the intro for most is legitimately hard to watch, but honestly, IN MY OPINION, I've never found the moment that sad, aside from Pam's reaction. I think the aftermath saves it from being kinda sad, and it's just very crazy and that's about it for me. It's the biggest example of "audience knows something that 'characters' don't" and while some find it sad and some find it hard to watch, I've never found it too emotional. Also, the "lift my mood" title is straight up any SMOSH content, serious, funny, emotional, joy filled, whatever, because SMOSH makes me happy no matter what. So these are basically my favorite moments, and I can watch that clip any time with the context before and after and I'm good. Anyways, that's about it. The only thing that makes sense is that this stunt was scripted. Whether Pam was in on it or not, I don’t know. But Ian, Shayne, Courtney, and Damien were definitely in on it. Think about it, Shayne, Court, and Damien’s dramatic unison “you got it wrong” response, only makes sense if Ian said “Wait, the lie was that I cheated on Pam”. I think that’s what Ian was scripted to say, and then they say “You got it wrong, she guessed right”…. But that’s not what Ian said. And they all kept to their script, despite supposedly thinking that she guessed wrong and deserved to be squirted based off of Ian’s statement: “The lie was that I forgot my mom’s birthday”. It’s further evidenced by the fact that they used this “horrible misunderstanding that really hurt Pam’s feelings” as the freakin thumbnail of the video. Whether Pam was in on it is 50/50, but the rest definitely were. Never assume that actors can’t sell you scripted content as something genuine. They literally made a career out of faking emotions.
