Well that could actually make sense as they are in a fairly well populated area ane a pistol is a fair bit quieter and has a much farther effective range on top of that 9mm and orher pistol calibers would likely be more common in suburban areas than shotgun calibers theres also the issue of weight and size which can be an issue in tight spaces so yeah id say it makes sense
