I have a cool bummer story to share, too! When I was in, I think, fifth grade (had to have been 9 or 10 years old), I wasn't exactly the happiest kid. Got bullied pretty heavily in school, my family didn't really try and help me do anything about it no matter how many times I talked about it, my grades were complete shit cause I have ADHD and focusing on things is something I struggle with. It was a lot, I wasn't really enjoying being alive at that point. The details of this specific event are a little fuzzy cause it's been a long time, but, from what I do remember: My grandma picked me up from school and took me to her house to wait until my mom got off of work, I brought home a worse report card than usual. I typically had a C average, this one was full of Ds and Fs, and my mom did not like that at all. We got into a pretty big argument about it over the phone, which mostly consisted of her yelling at me and then telling me not to talk back when I tried defending myself, a typical Tuesday night in that house. I stormed into my room, closed the door, and had a breakdown. I was completely overwhelmed with sadness and embarrassment, it was all I could concentrate on. Some time passes, and I start noticing my aunt's voice from the kitchen (idk when she got in the house, but apparently she was there lol), she's talking to my grandma. I missed a good chunk of the conversation cause I was too busy having a panic attack, so the first thing I hear is my aunt screaming "well, no wonder she can't stand him!" from the other room. Having no other context, I can only think the "him" in question was me (this was back when I still identified as male), so now I have the thought that my mom hates me in my head and I start to freak out even harder. My mom eventually gets there to take me back to her house, but I don't really wanna see her cause I now think she can't stand me. I tell her what I overheard my aunt say, and, to my mom's credit, she does try to comfort me. She tells me it was a misunderstanding and says she's gonna talk to her about it. My mom and I go back to her house, and I get a call from my aunt after a few hours. She doesn't really apologize, though, she just says "Maybe next time you should hear the whole conversation instead of just hearing what you wanna hear" and hangs up. Apparently, she was talking about an unrelated thing with my grandpa that I didn't know about. I must've missed that part while I was having a panic attack, that's my mistake ig
