This game somehow confuses new players that guessing the word is the objective. Jackie guessing Leona Lewis and Arasha guessing Namaste at the last 5 seconds just cemented their role as Seers. We instead didn't get to see them debating on who the Werewolf is or double claiming Seer which imo is a fun part of the game. Hope they play it again tho.

Yes I own this game and I’ve played it a lot with a lot of different people and I thought the same. I’ve never played a game with a seer guessing the word, and when I’ve played we’ve usually only gotten the word about half the time. I wondered if they’d realised that the villagers still win if they don’t guess the word but correctly guess the werewolf, and the werewolf wins if the word is guessed but they find the seer, which is why you never want to be too obvious as the seer or werewolf.

I guess they (Spencer specifically) skipped the part in the rules where the villagers can guess the werewolf to end the game.

@@TheAluvisify as someone who is very familiar with this game I immediately noticed that they skipped explaining that part of the rules! And yes, the alternate win conditions exist for that reason, to make the seer and werewolf be discreet in their help/sabotage since they will still lose if they are too obvious. The mayor can also be the werewolf and they can lie and mislead in their answers and also pick the hardest word, so if the villagers didn’t guess the word it would be really unfair if they automatically lost! If the word isn’t guessed because time or tokens ran out then the word is revealed to everyone via the app so that is taken into consideration when discussing and voting on who the werewolf is.

That's actually how the game works! They may have only explained half the rules to keep things simpler, or perhaps the smosh cast just forgot about the rule because they're new to the game haha. But "rules as written," if the timer goes off and the word hasn't been guess, the word is revealed, and the players then vote together on who they think the werewolf is. So the werewolf has to be careful -- if they are too obvious, the players won't guess the word on purpose so they can get them. Conversely, if the players make it too obvious that they're just running out the clock, the werewolf can just say the word, point to the seer, and win. In fact, if the werewolf EVER figures out who the seer is, it's game over -- they say the word and identity the seer. So if you are the seer, your primary objective is to be as unsuspicious as possible. Forget about guessing the word -- that's not the objective. The objective is to win, and you do that by either guessing the werewolf, OR by guessing the word and still getting the seer to successfully elude him.

Love this group! I missed Jackie in Games stuff. Jackie, Spencer, Triple A and Chanse are my favorite group. I feel like they vibe really well in this kind of game. Hope y'all do another lying/deception game with this specific group. Some feedback: I felt like this group was more balanced playing a kind of lying/deception game. It sometimes comes across like one or two people are dominating the conversation in other lying/deception games you've had or at least it comes across that way sometimes to me. It might be because this game is simpler than those, but I do hope y'all have this group play something like the Secret X games.
