Chronicles 2 and 3 are really good too. They're a different kind of game, but if you're in it for the gameplay and just want to play more of it those are your jam. Sure 1 had designed maps for every mission while 2 and 3 reuse theirs a lot, but they're the skirmish mode of the series. Plus 3 has by far the coolest squad emblem.
