I was thinking the same thing! It's so cute! I love how they've actually managed to integrate the whole cast and introduce them to so much of the history they feel part of it all. I've been saying this, but Smopsh did something absolutely genious with the nostalgic content after Anthony came back and a lot of new audience turned up. I was one of those people. The audience was able to sort of project the sense of unfamiliarity and outsider position onto the newer cast and learn with them, grow to relive and adopt part of Smosh's history and evolution and feel seen and included.

@@HeadsorTailors I had the privilege of being homebound for a year to catch up (it's honestly embarrassing how much content I consume). But you're right, there's such an enormous amount of content, not everybody can just sit through all of it (and neither did I, to be clear, I still haven't got trough everything haha). I do believe lots of people went back to watch old content, even the cast have mentioned a couple videos that had a view count spike at some point because of them popping up by chance or being referenced in current content. But having the experience shared with the cast is next level from just catching up with a new channel, you know? That's why to me it felt like being seen, adressed and included. It was some great PR on the part of Smosh and great way to introduce the new era. The fact that Angela or Chance had done something similar on their own, catching up with series and shows like they mentioned, is so funny and endearing to me. OH, and we cannot forget fan edits!! Those people are heroes. You really get the sense of noticing the same bits and details when you see other people paying attention to the same parts and replaying them all around. Whenever I hear a cast member mention a clip from a specific video that "circled around" I get all warm and fuzzy about them noticing what the audience it picking up😄 Sorry to ramble, but I think it's all generally a pretty good example of relatively healthy audience-creator relations that doesn't go too far into creepy parasocial stuff, although there's definitely some of that in all online exchange. But the fact that it's more about the content, the work, the on-screen dynamics, the jokes, bits and all is a positive things that fuels creativity of the company's part but keeps it sustainable on the audience's part too. Idk where all of this came from, I just have a lot to say about Smosh handling audience matters pretty laudably😅
