One thing people should really think about when sealing something and this comes from 30years building. Sealing something is basically putting a skin over it. So if the sealant dries and there’s even a tiny hint of moisture under it the sun will draw the moisture out. The moisture will literally lift the skin. People paint wooden windows in the winter and when summer comes along the moisture in the wood wants out. Hence all the paint flaking off. In my opinion exterior surfaces need to breath all year round. Putting a skin over external porous materials is not great. Inside a dry house on natural stone like travertine tiles its superb.

I had the same problem with the sealant, on two jobs! I didn’t use any hypo on them though so can’t be that. But it was when it was extremely warm/ we had random downpours.

awesome video again, been watching for a while. follow you and partridge extieror for most my tips I need and cant thank you guys enough, however theres one thing ive not seen covered im after some advice for. I am on a set up that currently runs the screw in connections on both ends of hose, to a solid lance/trigger system, with quick connect nozzles, but not the quick connect lance system with the separate trigger. The surface cleaner is also on its own hose with the same connections. I want to go over to the interchangeable trigger system and the one hose for all use system, with the buffer tank w/ stop valve, but i am unsure how to 'rig' it up, which connections i need to use. I currently have a 8LPM back up machine, a 12LPM machine, and a new 15LPM machine on order. I want to be able to run any of them i need for the job i need it for all being able to connect to the same hose and outlet. The surface cleaner is a swirlaway. I beleive from my best recollection, mine are male22? fitting, its the pressure nipple that goes into the inlet and then the screw on cap to tighten to machine on each end of hose. Sorry for the long message or if there was a better way of asking, contacting, but i appreciate any help, from yourself or the community. Keep up the good work helping out the rest of us! :)

Purchase all adapters from Screwfix / Wickes to fit indoor kitchen / bathroom taps. Failing that ask a neighbour and slip them a 5er 👍

I have never sealed a drive, but in my experience with coatings and solvents, that milky cloudy effect has to do with moisture. I would guess from the area being damp and the heat drawing up the moisture, or even the rain if there were areas it could seep under the coating. Just a guess. On a different note. Please feel free to disregard my question, but are you happier being on your own? Do you think that between you tube and your company its cut into your family time. I ask because my big regret was that my business, was way too big a part of my life. I worry that people make my dumb mistakes. Good luck to you.

How do you usually dispose of the sludge (wet sand, mud etc)?

A good few years ago people started to spray sealant on brickwork thinking it would protect there house more. It would end up making the walls go white and destroying them. I don’t seal anything I keep it natural for a safe long lasting job.

Another cracking job. A question... How much time do you save using the x-jet compared to the gardiner? For example, the job on this video - how long would it have taken with the gardiner and how long did it take with the xjet?

Would be interested to hear the outcome. I’ve just done my first sealer job and the customer wasn’t happy. It didn’t bloom but she’s unhappy it’s slightly darker. 😳. Same sealer you’ve used there. I’m booked onto the manufacturer’s mod 1 course in Aug. How Long did you leave it to dry before sealing? I’m betting hot temps have caused moisture to rise from the sub base. My money is on Xylene only for the best correction.

How’s it going brother I have the same business and I can guarantee you if you get rid of the surface cleaner you’re using now and pick up the yellow BE one you’ll get much better results because your surface cleaner has four nozzles on it it doesn’t spin at the same rpm as the one with two so the cleaning power isn’t as great I always use my surface cleaner and block paving even when it’s thick moss and I get everything out 👍

I sealed my first driveway after pressure washing for a few years and after doing it I’ve vowed to never ever touch sealer again.. what a backache, there’s no amount to charge to make it worth it in my eyes.. too many factors, perfect weather etc etc it’s just a waste of time

Can hypo be put down on dry surfaces or does the surface have to be wet?

What happens if the buffer tank empties mate? I’m looking into 21lpm but only going with 240litre buffer. Lastly if you had chance again would you have started with bigger van and higher water output? Many thanks and cracking content 👍

If your buffet tank empties wait for it to fill up again you’d do well to empty a 240l buffer tank

@@Rickym403 no it will be fine. Obviously not the best thing for the machine but as long as you turn the machine off quickly and wait for it to refill. Won’t be a problem

Lovely job there Jake…. We need to confirm with the community, would a 21LPM machine along with the surface cleaner remove the dirt from the driveway? If anyone has a 21LPM can you share your input

Although I run a 30ltr machine I would say min 21lpm is good for a FSC but the bigger the machine the better the job and the quicker you can work

​@@LancashireProClean would a 21lpm remove say weeds in between the blocks. I run a 15lpm with surface cleaner and it just cleans and I just end up using turbo nozzle to get all the sand out when sealing.

Pureseal products are crap,don’t use that. Whiteness on bricks is probably from dump bricks. They need to need perfectly dry for sealing
