My first car was a A4 2.0tfsi has the same engine as the Gti. Its a great engine mine consumed not that much oil like everyone says they do. You should really install a oil catch can so you don't get more carbon build up. Let the Valves get cleaned. And install a after market air intake with the box at the front

This reminds me of my own mk5 gti. It was a high mile piece of junk but I loved it. I bought it with a k04 that would always spin the tires even in the dry from a roll. It taught me how to replace the radiator, wheel bearings, replacing the head unit from a mk6, exhaust, all that stuff.

I painted my MK5 with tintable raptor liner (truckbed liner) for $300 in my garage and it looks awesome two years / 15,000 miles later. I used tractor red tint.

The amount of quality used performance parts out there on ebay etc these days make a Mk5 GTI a smart buy in today's rimes of 300+bhp hot hatches.. edition 30 and Pirelli is the ones you want, easy to get 320bhp out of them with the K04 turbo 👌🏻

MKV holds a spot in my memory banks. Especially the 2 door. There where no trims then and you got it all. Sunroof, HID rain sensing wipers. The interior quality was on par with the 4’s but man that car was fun. Good video dudes.

Man, amazing work, I won't deny it, you put your back in it but come on guys, give some attention to those panel gaps when you assemble it back together, just look at 11:40 how badly the lower bumper is aligned with the fender and the headlight... I would make a big fuss at a shop if they'd leave my car like that.

all builds are builds at the end of the day, the VW GTI mk 5 is a good base car, $1500 is a lot of money well I live in South Africa so converting it will be R22 000, with that I'd buy a set of coils, buy a R32 bumper kit and taillights, do a complete respray of the original black and maybe do a stage 2 or basic tune or buy an exhaust system, refurbish the wheels cos they hard to find in SA and buy some good tires

Your videos are very helpful and detailed from the viewers point of view. They inspire me to go and start working on my Buick that's been sitting on Jack's for almost a year now 😅😆. The only thing it needs is a new master cylinder. replaced the Brake lines already, jus rather pay someone who knows what they're doing to bleed the air out of the lines correctly. I never had any good luck with line replacement, Always ended up with a half decent half squishy Brake pedal. Anyways hope to see you in the 100k sub range this year because KZbinrs like you deserve it and more for the work you put in! 👌💯

On the hood of the car where there was corrosion, the foil will rise, bubbles will be made, you had to protect that part before the foil and repaint.

For some reason I feel like it might actually look cool to remove the front panel of the GTI. It has a sort of Rocket Bunny look. It also means your engine would be getting way more air. Not sure how it would affect aerodynamics though. Probably not in any positive way.
