502's route length has been updated down to just 56km as apparently the distance between The Synergy and Delfi Orchard bus stops is really just 11.1km, probably because the 14.6km calculated distance is if 502 used PIE instead.

@@terenceteo895 Where it comes to bus travel, the time taken for a bus to travel between two places does not scale proportionately with distance. Road speeds, presence of traffic lights and bus stops are some factors which may slow down a bus more, as in this case.

502 previously go North East area. Previously, one of them has asked whether can extend to Tampines via Bartley Road East and KPE or not, or Hougang/Sengkang area via Upper Serangoon Road. But it was not advisable due to duplication with NEL, 129 and even several routes. So, it is practical to stay as a loop from Boon Lay to Marina Centre.
