Mirza Asadullah Baig Khan was a renowned classical Urdu and Persian poet of the subcontinent. Most notably, he wrote several ghazals during his life, which have since been interpreted and sung in many different ways by different people. In romanized urdu it will be Mukarrar مکرر not Muqarrar مقرر. Mukarrar is from Takraar ie repetition. Muqarrar is from Taqreer ie speech. .. Small clarification. .. Love your interest in Urdu.

Don't know the truth. But I think it wasn't spontaneous but Ghalib made it so

It was shown as such in the play, but probably wasn’t. However, Ghalib did have quite a reputation for spontaneity, banter and humor all rolled into one. Gulzar probably took artistic license with that reputation for this scene.

When ghalib was asked to apologise ustad zauq, he didn't apologise him but he replied in his own style.. " sadiq hoon apne qaul mein ghalib khuda gawah, kehta hoon sach aur jhoot ki aadat nahi hai mujhe" sadiq=sachcha His sense of humour was amazing . Only ghalib can play with these words..
