SMT: Nocturne - Lucifer (Low Level, Hard, 100%, No Compendium/Evolution/Crithax)

Lowdown on the restrictions of this challenge:
EXP gain is only permitted in forced encounters and must be minimised where possible.
No summoning demons using the demonic compendium.
What? PIKACHU is evolving? No it fucking ain't m8. No evolving any demons.
Taking advantage of Dark and Bright Might for 100% crits vs bosses is strictly forbidden.
Raising anyone's stats artificially (e.g. Mitama, Incenses or even Magatama bonuses) is forbidden.
Demons of the Fiend class are banned... MC aside :^)
This will be done on the TDE path and collecting all Magatama.
Third time's the charm... y'all know what became of my first (successful, dammit) attempt, but the 2nd one didn't go so well - he managed to drag it out to over half an hour with buff removal spam before he started picking things off with Root of Evil and physical attacks. Hey, at least he actually put up fight.
The first ~20k HP is a joke, just buff to max and smack him down because he can't really touch you here. It's after this that he brings out his most powerful moves - High King, Root of Evil and of course Dekunda/Dekaja. This is where you need to stay on your toes. Use buffs retard has never been more true - you need to have your entire lineup pimped out with both defensive and offensive buffs. Your #1 priority is keeping his attack at minimum and your defence at max, as well as ending each round with near max HP (keep everyone over ~400 as a rule of thumb, this is enough to survive double High King.) MC should be using Focus or Iron Claw every round unless you need to apply War Cry/Fog Breath - use your demons for offensive buffs. Iron Claw can still (very rarely) miss after 2 Fog Breaths, so feel free to throw in a single Sukukaja if you have a free turn, but it's mostly a junk move in this fight.
Going for all Magatama gives you a few nice extra toys compared to the level 53 finish - Masakados being the obvious one, but I was also able to learn Retaliate and bring a couple of nice ailment void demons (all unlocked at level 54, way to troll me game.) I think this is the absolute best lineup possible at this level - Loa would work in place of Loki, but it has less free slots for buffs, and you'd still want to either carry Prayer or give it Void Mind.
This was a really fast fight because he didn't start removing buffs til I'd taken off ~40k HP. Don't think it goes by without incident though, as you'll see there was a serious shit-my-pants moment once he got it together. It's similar to how I lost my 2nd attempt, but thankfully I managed to pull it back this time.

Ronaldo Villanueva she has the Laevatein sword and since Remilia mentions having a family heirloom (her case is Gungnir in 7.5 and Flandre's Laevatein in 6&9.5). More of me wanting to cross the two games since they can bring a new tone into each other, Megaten would bring a more morality and freedom based tone while Touhou would hold a sillier and hypocrisy based tone. And because the two just mesh well.

Some parting thoughts: -I left in cutscenes again cuz Lucy's intro is still sick after all these years. Battle starts at 2:15 if you suck -Retaliate wasn't *that* useful in the end, but it was still nice for some extra damage and a better use of a slot than Tarukaja. I can't see anything else worth putting there anyway -I wasn't dedicated enough to try and call Uzume to finish him off, sorry -Demi-Fiend bitch slapped me 2 the ground after this and made a dash w/ the Daisoujou lewds. Looks like I'm definitely gonna hafta play DDS next :^)

Made off with the Daisoujou lewds you say? I think a way to make a sufficient challenge for Digital Devil Saga would be to do some kind of a low level run where you can only beeline through dungeons, taking the most efficient path only. Kind of like those people that did fewest step runs for Final Fantasy 6, except there's no step counter in DDS.

Fun fact according the Megami Tensei wiki he apparantly does have Dirahan, dunno if it's a mistake or maybe it is in his skill list but never used but I never see him using Diarahan.

Nesouk Kefka He does have Diarahan only in the Chronicle Edition, he cast when he loses half of his HP. Root of Evil have a additional Dekaja effect in the Hard Mode and Raidou have Pierce. And yes, Magic can Pierce in the Chronicle Edition.

Thanks to Iron Claw however, the battle is able to be cut significantly. You don't need nearly as many Iron Claws to take down Lucy compared to Divine Shots.

If you're doing a no pierce run diarama actually forces you to keep his magic ATK down to stop him from healing himself more than you can damage him That being said doing a no pierce Lucifer is something I've done but on that diarama was the least of my worries lol

I'm from the UK, it's the European version (which is actually called Lucifer's Call, not Nocturne) Just an oddity of the different versions. There's a few other quirks, like the triangle and O commands being swapped for some reason
