The german steam loco is actualy from Fleischmann. It's a class 80 switcher in old Fleischmann-scale of 1:82, 1:84 or 1:85. Fleischmann only gradually brought the scale of its models up to standard.
@yourfellowpancake63352 жыл бұрын
The fact that none of those are exactly right for HO scale which is 1:87 is a bit annoying, as you’d need to get specific track for it, but if you’re into the niche then it’s really cool.
@ricardlupus2 жыл бұрын
@@yourfellowpancake6335 The gauge is still H0 (16.5 mm), it's just the scale of the body that's a bit wrong. These old Fleischmann locomotives aren't really scale models anyway, if you compare them with the prototype or later models, the proportions tend to be slightly off, regardless of the actual scale.
@ricardlupus2 жыл бұрын
The large number on the side tanks and the black wheels give this away as the US version ; the original German one would have had red wheels (unless someone painted them; the couplers on the one in the video are Fleischmann which surprises me as Fleischmann did sell them in North America with NMRA couplers).

And the gentleman who recognized the class 80 German locomotive 060T from Fleshman is a high End and high quality locomotive That I believe is made in Germany, and the locomotive video that you picked up earlier in the orange box wasn’t Arnold which is also made in Germany and high end and high-quality !!!! The Fleischmann engine (Catalogue No. 1325) was the americanized version of their DB Class 80 locomotive introduced in 1952 (No. 1320), well before they develped their cog railway system in 1968. You do never know what you'll find. I happened on a big antique mall the other day and wandered through. Most of the trains were overpriced or about market but I did find a Gilbert HO car for $4 that's worth about $25. it's late for train shows here in the US, I guess in the south they do them because it's so hot out people want to be inside in the AC but here in NY we stop about the end of April and pick up again in September. Usually it's harder to get people to do indoor events when it's nice out and you can be outside. The Fleischmann is a good deal. I've yet to run across one in the original box.

I spent all my spending money there and came away with some neat stuff. Never made it back there, though, although I did wish to make a return trip- it just never happened. I’ve since stopped my train show travels as I have just about all the trains and buildings I think I need, but who knows? Maybe one day the bug will bite again and I’ll perceive a need to go looking for some vintage piece I need or want for my collection. Brass seems to be calling me.
