@canadianpacificstudios58354 жыл бұрын
@samuel olesek so what? There still locomotives?
@mercuryoak24 жыл бұрын
@Samuel Olesek what's it to you. I look at it this way it's another man's treasure when it's somebody else's trash doesn't matter if they have rust either . They can be restored you don't just throw away something that could look good I have a locomotive that had paint chips pieces missing and broken and I got it running and it looks brand new and it pulls 20 + cars I'd say it's an old 1970s Mantua. And my mom got it inside a box of train stuff for price of like 5 $10 and I never ran it because I didn't have education for the inspiration to actually repair and oil and fix up my things sentimental value I'm actually happy that I have my own custom painted custom renumbered locomotive that can do more than its fair share of work
@mercuryoak24 жыл бұрын
@Samuel Olesek hey think about something I have a Chattanooga Choo Choo from Tyco from 1975 the guy that sold it to me for $20 the locomotive cars looked disgusting I washed them clean them oiled the locomotive fix the front end and it runs perfectly no dry rotted Traction tires. It came with a small selection of brass track and the original Bridge set the track was tarnished it's all shiny now the way I think of Harrison and a lot of people do what Jay Leno does but for trains.

Tenshodo is a Japanese brass locomotive as well as passenger cars (maybe rolling stock) that are/were made in Japan and were imported by Pacific Fast Mail (a brass importer), that is a New York Central EMD FT b unit made in the late 40s or early 50s

The steam locomotive is actually a switcher and not a Mogul. Moguls have 2-6-0 wheel configuration. That is just a 0-6-0.

@CR76594 жыл бұрын
Pennsy F7 is a Penn Line, although it could be Varney also. Penn Line tooled the shell, which went to Varney when they folded in 1964, where it replaced their F3. Burlington 0-6-0 is a Rivarossi but these things were junk from the get-go. I bought a collection over the summer that had the tender for one in it - the drive wheels were permanently ensconced into a pond on the guy's layout. I would say 90% of the ones I've run across are non-functional. Boy how many coats of paint on that Hobbytown? 20? 30? I was about to say that's a super early Tenshodo FT-B when you found the stamp on the frame. It's probably a Penn Line GG1 but Varney sold them for a few years and for some reason Life-Like sold them - possibly they sold whatever completed models were in the warehouse when they bought Varney, ads for them ran in magazines for a year or so. Bowser got the tooling and still has some parts even though they've discontinued much to do with the older cast stuff (and may have even destroyed the tooling). The body is die-cast. Even if you can't fix engines in this lot, it's good to have them for the parts, sometimes you can make one good one out of two or three clunkers. A lot of these things no one makes parts for now. The Penn Line is an example - when Bowser sells out of what parts are left, that's the end.
