Here are some facts: This is not an original song by Girls’ Generation. Back then, American singer Ke$ha had the song back then. The track was recorded in 2008, and her crew wrote the lyrics, and produced the song. In 2009, it was released in USA radios, but never went to charts. The song was untouched but eventually, in 2010, “Run Devil Run” was supposed to be in her debut album “Animal”, but Universal Music Group sold the song to SM Entertainment, and led Girls’ Generation to sing it. I don’t know if the lyrics were replaced but Ke$ha’s version was not released by any means. I think GG are fans of Ke$ha because Jessica covered TiK ToK 😂😂😂 In 2012, Girls’ Generation re-released the title track to Japanese, along with an A-side of Mr. Taxi. So, Ke$ha’s version ended up getting unreleased because SM bought it, and Ke$ha sold the song. That’s why it did not make the cut in Ke$ha’s debut album, but there are videos of Ke$ha’s version.

SNSD is the very first girl group I’ve ever listened. I remember my friend introduced me this song in college on my 3rd semester. It was Korea Fever back then, almost every person I knew listened to K-Pop. And my life was never the same since then. I used to streamed this song like literally a hundred times every day and I don’t even feel bored. This song was the first song in my playlist that played 1000 times. It was 8 years ago, I was 20 as I remember. And now I’m 28. I miss the girls, especially when they are 9. I used to watched their reality show in KZbin from 9PM to 3AM. I was really attached to them in their era. And now I’m feeling nostalgic whenever this song played. Thank you SNSD for the good memories. I love each and everyone of you. :’)

Alex James, Busbee and Kallee wrote this song and Kesha made a demo for them (a demo is a musical sample sketch to give the singers/producers a technical idea before releasing songs for public use) This song then was sold to SM and produced for Girls Generation. 🙂 I thought this was already clear 8 years ago. I didn't know that people are still confused with this simple fact.
