"It was all positive until I smelt his breath" 🤣 that foul hooked pike was sad but it's something that happens, I remember my 1st year lure fishing I had a perch take a spinner and it literally SWALLOWED it, I got it out without too much damage but the fish was in a bad way, I was so gutted and didn't fish for a few week because I was so upset by it, but after talking to some experienced angler's and being reassured that it's unfortunate but rare I went again and I have to say I've not had anything like it happen again I the last 4 years! So you naughty boys crept over the border and sneaked a couple out in my neck of the woods! A lot of that river upstream and downstream of the city is available on a 7 nicker day ticket (Earl of Harrington AC) and about 15 miles of the T&M canal that skirts the city also available on day ticket (Pride of Derby AC) so a fair bit for visiting anglers. Still a bit low though, really need some rain to freshen things up. Anchor Church pools are on the Burton Mutual ticket and day tickets if accompanied by a member., nowhere near as good as sick boy made out though 😅 Most of the Trent is private clubs but Andy Buckley (IB & Andy) guides on the Burton on Trent sections if you fancy it in the future. 👍😎
