Snake River Expedition - FULL EXPERIENCE in 4K (Cedar Point)

Snake River Expedition is a reimagined boat ride located at Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio. This is the third generation of this style of ride within the park. The most recent, Paddlewheel Excursions, was removed when the park added "Dinosaurs Alive!" in 2012.
This is definitely a unique ride. What was once a pointless dinosaur island is now a frontier style adventure on both the island and Snake River Expedition.
Take a close look at everything when you ride, there are many Easter eggs for previous rides and attractions in other Cedar Fair Parks!
Every ride experience is different, it really depends on crowd interaction. What was your ride like?

I just got off of Snake River Expedition. The actors name was "Donnie" or "Donny" (not sure how it is spelled) but he was the best actor I had yet and made the ride so memorable. Shout out to him for an unforgettable journey!

I enjoyed Snake River Expedition. Sure wish they had more rides like that. Not everybody enjoys roller coaster!

Cedar Point is realizing that if they want that "Best Park" title back from Europa they are going to have to add some themeing/ experiences to Cedar Point instead of it being 100% focused on coasters, and I for one love it. If cedar Point was well themed throughout like this, it would be the best park in the world without a single doubt.

@@TechMan1900 strongly disagree. I have a season pass to Cedar Point, but WDW knocks it out of the park when it comes to theming and customer service. Did WDW/Universal trips the last three years, and Disney is just above and beyond (Universal is close and Epic Universe will be amazing).

I wish this ride had better animatronics. I don’t expect Disney quality, but this is just sad. Other than that, the ride is pretty cute.

Needs more snake stuff and a cave like structure and just more interaction from the scenery... its quaint though and the porter was gr8 with the kids...

Rode this yesterday and while it's still called Snake River Expedition and uses the same boats, everything else is different. All of the actors are gone. Once you get into the shed there's no actor and no business with getting bags; instead you're shown a slide show about buying property on Snake River. Once you're on the boat, the experience is the boat operator talking you around the water and mixing bad jokes with trying to sell the various buildings as new properties. It wasn't awful, but it's not nearly the experience it was envisioned to be - I imagine COVID and staffing issues made CP pare it back.

This got all messed up. The kid didn't give the bag up for them to have to blow up the outhouse. The girl didn't board the boat either. The snake got us when we rode it.

This ride is for families, and exceeds expectations for a family ride at Cedar Point. This is a step in the right direction for the park in terms of diversifying their offerings.

CP point has hit the limit of attendance growth with just focusing on thrill coasters. Thats why they are transforming it into a multi day destination resort.

When the ride was Riverboat Excursions, that was exactly the intention: a nice sit-down ride for visitors who wanted a break from walking around the park. However, when it was RE it was just the captain telling corny jokes while piloting the boat. There was a different bunch of lame animatronics. But the biggest difference was, the dock was on the other side of the lagoon, right next to where the current Coasters Drive-In is - MUCH easier to get to than where the entrance is now. When the Iron Dragon was built the lagoon was reconfigured and now the only access point they could build on was way back in the park and difficult for older guests to get to.
