Great!It looks to me that it would move better with a rubber material than the plastic one; there would be more friction and thus it wouldn't slip; what do you think?

These could make amazing technology in the hands of an adept visionary/programmer, and with a few adjustments like a ball joint instead of a hinge.

That is unbelievable. It's amazing to see how far weve come with robtics and remote controls devices. I mean, where can the circuitry even be in this thing? There are servos in every joint. Cool.

Please.. After the cut at 2:00, the robot keeps running till 3:30 at 4x fast forward. And runs at the rest of the video till 4:25 at 2x fast forward. Which means, battery life would be at least 8 minutes with the data presented in this video.

How would this perform on an uneven surface? I suspect certain 'uncoupling' moves would mean it wouldn't be able to join back together. Excellent mechanism though!! Is it performing a pre-programmed routine?

for going up stairs or verical objects can you make a program that calculates how high the distance is to travle and have the snake move all its peices at once instead of stoping between moves?

Yep, modular robotics. A robot that can reassemble itself to accomplish different tasks. they can also split into pieces and have the pieces work as individual robots/snakes.

We all know nature is very smart, humans are tryin' to copy it's greatness but it's okay because a very well design of a movile robot based on nature's creations could be used for space missions or something like that. P.S.: I'm learning english, if a commit a mistake, make me know it.

I'm guessing there is either little screws that connect them or there could be electromagnets that activate when each piece touches another.
