Snake vs Catfish tug-of-war over a live fish-Kanha National Park

This is the astonishing moment two hungry snakes were locked in a tug-of-war over a live fish. The first Checkered keelback plucked the catfish from a stream in the Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh, India on July 20.
It grabbed the victim in its jaws and was lifting it out of the water to eat for lunch when a second keelback reared up and chomped on the tail. I was lucky to take a few Perfectly-timed photographs and video that shows the reptiles tussling over their lunch.
Not only were the two snakes fighting, but the fish was also trying to escape from the predicament - a feat that it managed eventually after 30 minutes. That fish was strong-willed. My passion and hobby is to capture rare moments and seeing this was unbeatable. This was my first time to see a fish that dared to fight a snake.
The three creatures were stuck in the bizarre position for around 30 minutes. The snake holding the fish's tail became tired first and dropped back into the river. The other snake then had to let go a few minutes later and slither away when the fish started wriggling around. The fish made it back into the water and both the snakes went without food. The fish swam away so I am certain it was still alive.
The keelback snake is a common nonvenomous water snake found throughout Asia while catfish are known for their prominent barbels, which resemble a cat's whiskers.

That's no catfish, its a small Snakehead Channa Andrado or something similar. I used to study a pair of these guys in an aquarium, they would frequently escape and crawl around the house on their pectoral fins. One night I came home to the fish sitting propped up in front of the fridge looking at me like "WHAT". Serious aquatic creatures, tough as nails, smart and aggressive.

Good video, although I would seriously recommend a stronger copyright protection method than having your name displayed at intervals in the video. Smart video editing would cut the text out with no trouble at all. I strongly suggest trying various overlays of watermarks that cover most of the video, if you must protect the video. What is interesting, and that you did not seem to note, is that the first snake who caught the catfish appears to have it's head stuck partially in the catfish's mouth. The catfish also has a snake head partially stuck in it's mouth! :D Looked like a stalemate until one or the other had to give up the struggle, which ended up being both snakes, catfish won out through sheer determination.

I would say the fish had the measure of both snakes … snake’s head in fish’s mouth was going nowhere - unable to breathe or see - the other was barely hanging off the fish’s slimy tail not knowing that it was game for its slithering rival. Catfish are very tough, slimy and stay out of water for great lengths of time.
