😮 Ooo the struggle! Then all at once ... Gulp! Incredible capture of wildlife! Although, sometimes I'm unreal and eat with one bite 😅 I think I should nibble, savor and enjoy each bite 😉🍫😁

Amazing footage here too! This looks like a huge fish (A fully grown/adult Tilapia?) the bird caught! The fish was struggling, but the hungry Anhinga (a tan-necked female I believe.) managed to fully consume it all okay? It looked like the unlucky thing was desperately kicking sliding down that long throat! I wonder, does the large fish stand any chance of escaping if eaten in that condition? Maybe it can turn around inside the elastic throat/stomach and has a chance of survival here.

Greetings and thank you for such great comments. The Tilapia is an adult, but I have caught ones much larger even though this was decent size. You are correct in identifying the Anhinga as a female. The males have the darker, black necks& chest. So Miss Anhinga got down her prey and I have always wondered about the internal struggle when predatory birds get down the hatch live. Wiggly meals like fish & eels. I have never seen but one Bird killed by its prey and that was a Red-shouldered hawk bitten in the face by its water moccasin prey. So glad humans don't have to dine in like manner ! Appreciate you & I hope you have a great day.
