For anyone who wants to do some more sleuthing I've compiled appearances of Jeffina II and others on the channel: In "Our Hognose Snakes had TWINS!!!" Jeffina II is hatched, I believe she appears first at the top left in her egg at 5:37, but I'm pretty sure its her again at 12:01 being poked, she's the one weighed at 12:24 and she's also described around 12:30 as "pinkish orange" as opposed to her sibling being "yellowish orange". Her sibling is the one that's picked up and shown at 13:45 to show the high contrast in the albino pattern. They also mention that one of the normal siblings has high contrast spots in the video. In total the clutch she came from was 6 albino and 7 normal so appropriate for a het albino x albino pairing. The box at the beginning of that video says "Jeffina" on it and they explain an albino female is on loan from a friend named Jeff to breed with their het albino. In "Snake Breeding Part 2: Brumation Care" (2019) and "Moving Snakes Into Brumation" (2020) the only male I /think/ they mention that would be het albino is Boss Hog, who is het snow, so I think Boss Hog may have been Jeffina II's father. same for "Snake Breeding Part 3: Waking Up from Brumation", from what I can tell they only had a couple potential male het albinos at the time. Jeffina doesn't seem to appear in any of the videos so we can't confirm her appearance. She is also not in the "Snake breeding plans 2020!!" video, and in that I think Boss Hog is the only one mentioned who is het albino (het snow). maybe they had a different het albino behind the scenes, i don't know. Their "friend Jeff" is presumably Jeff of JMG reptiles as in at least one video (I think the feeding albinos one) they mention getting a snake from JMG reptiles, and his name is Jeff of course. In "Snake Breeding Plans 2023!" Sideways Jeff (who may be related to this breeding project) is albino and is being paired to a normal (10:15) with no hets mentioned as well as butterscotch, an albino (at 22:40). Jeffina II is mentioned at 22:50 that she will be paired with Bruh, as shown in this video. Regarding the actual "secret", I have no idea. If it is JMG reptiles, they have a big variety of hoggies and are the originator of lemon ghost morphs, so I wonder if that could lead to more yellow coloration in the lineage as a whole. With the high contrast though, Jeffina II reminds of me of an albino x arctic cross, so I wonder if they're looking for a new gene that's similar to arctic? It didn't show on the other babies in her clutch though, unless they all had it, so I really can't say. I'm guessing its not a dominant albino gene, otherwise people would have guessed it. Although- if Jeffina was actually super "arctic" albino (or a trait similar to arctic), her whole clutch would have been albino-arctic, or arctic which would explain why Jeffina II has blotches similar to arctics. But that still doesnt clarify what they're looking for with the babies, if not an arctic-like trait, because her siblings were all pretty subtly faded along the sides. Assuming Jeff and Jeffina II are from the same project they are testing: Jeff x normal Jeff x albino Jeffina II x conda
@86fifty Жыл бұрын
Haha, such sleuthing! Very impressive, yo! I'm also convinced at this point that it must be some new morph they're looking for, cuz if they've already gotten messages guessing, but no one's gotten it yet, the well-known het's can't be it... Can't wait to see what it is!

Some info that might help anyone trying to guess the secret: Jeffina II's parents are a het albino male of theirs and an albino female belonging to their friend Jeff. Actually alcohol wipes are way better. As they just have alcohol(if you get the right ones that are medical grade and they cost like nothing for a box, like $2-$20 depending on which ones you get for box of 100) and it's a sterilizer anyway and evaporates so won't damage the container or snakes/eggs.

Am curious about a cheat I heard about that might work on the writing on the containers. You scribble on the permanent marks with a dry erase marker and will then be able to wipe the marks off. Another suggestion is to use masking tape as a label. Easy to write on and you can just pull it off when you are done.

I told my mum I learnt about punctuation on KZbin, she gave me a small test to see what I learnt and her response was: “I have known you your whole life, trying to teach you punctuation but failed, you watch a KZbin video about snakes and you learn it instantly…….. props to whoever you where watching”

I’m hoping there’s potential for a new morph type to be discovered!
