This has all the pros of a karambit in a small, foldable package. Most folding karambits leave you in fear of cutting off your fingers if the lock fails. This fold design completely eliminates that possibility. Many knife fighting techniques put pressure on the back of the blade when capturing or controlling your opponent's hand. There's no other foldable blade I'd feel as confident in doing so than this knife. I absolutely love mine. Also, totally agree with the advice to not spin it around. There's people who are good spinners and then there's people who are good fighters. If you want something to spin get a pair of nunchucks.

Awesome intro, I picked one of these up and increases the detent to reduce deployment as I had it get stuck in my pocket open when messing with it. The Kickstarter version is built by Millit. Also CRKT now offers a Sheath for the knife too.

Great detailed review, very informative, thank you. I never heard of this knife till yesterday when I was looking at what is a cheap Chinese copy and someone in the reviews mentioned the Provoke. When I saw the folding style it was intriguing so I ordered the copy to see if I'd like the concept. $23 Canadian and next day delivery for the amazon copy and i like it, for the price I cannot complain, it's functional and fun to play with. I think I'll eventually own the provoke soon.

4 years late, however I trained in Silat for some years. Yes you can spin the blade on the ring, however if you’re not used to using your thumb to stop the blade then you’ll get cut. Even though I’m left handed, it was taught to be used in my non dominant hand because the left hand was used to trap so that way I could check opponents with my right hand with the knife.
@Baruch-Hashem4 жыл бұрын
Good review though I do not see it self deploying or being dangerous to the user in any way. It is a combat kniife and great eaily held open or closed while using a firearm. Its not for peeling an apple, carving a stick,...not that it can't, its just made for fighting. Personally, I hope to never be in such a situation, but it would clearly be very effective. Do you need a Karambit? Likely not, but it is very innovative, and very application specific.

I just got mine in the mail today and I think it's pretty neat and serves a few rolls self defense being primarily one of them second one like you said it could be used for other things... other than cutting tobacco lol they uesd it or to make for the old school farmers used to use when they were working in the field... ex carpet knife ..it's a variety of uses how you use the blade makes a difference though you mean you're cutting open like a through plastic or something like that when you shrink rap on a pallet... but they usually offer box blades for that so my job they wouldn't allow you to carry something like this once they figured out what it was.... there's the word: authorization of use at the workplace.... but if you working for Mom and Pop's type thing and they don't get into all that OSHA crap ..now then you're good you know you can have it when your truck driving cuz I would have at my previous job.. this is what I would probably use because it fits that kind of role but for me.. it's self defense you need to do other things but that's not what it was designed to do... sure you cut through a seatbelt pretty fast with it cuz it's very Stout you can use some force on something pretty good reminds you of when you're going through certain parts of the human body is definitely works perfect.... the social working blade.. think of it like this your quartering up chicken and you could go right through the joints on just about anything quick fast that kind of time.... this is like close-quarter combat is under the armpits behind the knees on the elbow underneath is what it is designed to go to those kinds of joints is to be more descriptive of what it would be like using I just put it this way.. the Apache would have seen this as a dream come true... because that's how they like to fight... there are many cultures that would be adapted to this pretty quick if you put that in their hand they would see the usage pretty quick..... but mainly this would be great for self-defense in the sense of you were attacked from behind surprised in that manner especially for a female... these are all my opinions....

Tried to carry it in my pocket with the clip attached to the ring... It opened partially on my leg mid-stride after carrying it about half a day. It ended up cutting a slit in my pants pocket. Had to get the holster for it. Then I lost interest due to it being slower than a folder having to come from the holster and then go back in when I was finished cutting. Cool idea, but I can do better.

I have an S-Tech folding Karambit. It's sheath makes it deployable in one action. The con is that the blade opens close to the body on a belt clip. I have cut 2 shirts opening it. Hey nice video I was going to ask you what you thought about the morphine knives on eBay and Amazon that are about 20 bucks they seem to be the same an unbranded, also I was looking at the fox Karambit but they open as you pull them out and they're far more expensive but I don't know if it's worth it, what design do you think is better the wave or the morphine mechanisms really nice video looking for to the next one have a great summer M&M
@nick_t74675 жыл бұрын
If you don't mind me answering... The morphine knives are made by Mtech, which produces relatively low quality knives. They aren't trash, but the blade steel doesn't hold an edge well and the lock strength is questionable. If you are willing to try something other than a karambit, Byrd knives (spyderco's sister company) just released their 'cara-cara' model with a wave opener. They're well-priced, the steel used is good, and the lock is strong. Also, Schrade makes a really cool fixed-blade karambit (sch111) that is budget-conscious, small, and easy to carry in a variety of ways, but still fairly good quality.
@dansterstuff4 жыл бұрын
