Oh snakes nowadays...doing orgies on the side of the road, in daytime and in front of the little kids...there is no respect anymore! 🙄 Glad you are all so dedicated making them respect social distancing! 😂 I thought it was still too cold there for snakes’ mating season, even for garter snakes... Anyway, no wonder why they seems multiply each year, a single female can give birth to up to 80 little snakes! 😳 But most of the one you saw there, were actually males...what’s really cool is that some males pretend to be female using female’s pheromones, so they can trick other males by luring them away from the real females (who wake later from brumation), warm themselves faster thanks to the all male mating ball and then leave and have a better chance to find and mate with a real female! So it would have been interesting to see how many females were actually there..
