This is really cool. I never gave snap guns much thought once I learned about EPGs, but you present it really well and it makes me want to create one to play with It and keep it around. I’ll go back to your earlier videos to find instructions 😊

Thanks Chirael, snap-guns make for a fun project, and they're great for practicing fundamentals for EPGs too if you think about it. They're kinda like the original, or 0.1 EPG lol. I have also been on a quest to try making the cleanest looking snap-gun I can make. That's still a work in progress, speaking of, if you do want to make one, this lady's video blows anything I've done out of the water kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGLRYZqsl8p3e5Ysi=bVaPAC6EPnNEfDjy this will explain it better then any videos I made, and it's better then any videos I've seen so far. Thanks for commenting bro, have a great week ahead.

@@RookKnight thank you so much, yes that video is great and I bookmarked it :) Are the spinners just copper tubing? And what’s their diameter?
@RookKnight
@RookKnight 2 ай бұрын
Yep just round copper tubes, I want with 8mm OD 0.5mm wall, but you could go even smaller if you liked, say 6mm, and it would probably be fine. (To each other own) And for the bike spokes I used, were made from #45 steel , and 14 gage 309mm. It would be better to get the longest you can find witch is just one more mm. 310mm (but I couldn't find any with a reasonable delivery time) Hope that helps. Have a good one brother 👍🏻

Thanks brother. I'm hoping it will save some time for others. I was going to cannibalize the first two, but thought it would be useful to show them before I did. Have a great weekend too my friend, thanks again.

Nice one Rook mate ♥️ Yeah, the paracord handle works great, I put one on my survival kit hacksaw blade 👍 I must have a go at making one of these picks one day. All the very best to you and yours, have a great weekend 🙏🏻❤️🕺🍻

Thanks Tinnie I like the idea of a hacksaw blade. I braided a handle for a jigsaw blade I have for a mini survival kit, but didn't think about a hacksaw blade. Well I will be adding hacksaw blades to my shopping list now lol. Thanks for the idea 💡👍🏻 All the best to you, and yours my fine friend 🤜🏻🤛🏻

I made my with a handle (loop on the bottom) look like a gun. I never had any tubing also single loop not a double loop coil. The one I use is over 25 years old still works.

Very nice, I have seen a few different designs for them. As well as being made from a few different materials. As long as it works, that's all that matters 👍🏻 Have a good rest of your weekend.

Is this black snap pick made from bicycle spokes? How many turns do you put the spring? What is the inner diameter of the loop? What is the length of the lever arm that you snap? BTW, you could put small axle collar to act as a stop for the small finger shaft. Or, put a small 90 degree bend after the shaft.
@RookKnight
@RookKnight 2 ай бұрын
I like that idea about the collar. This one is made from a bike spoke, you want the longest ones they sell, which are 310mm (I couldn't find ones to ship in a decent amount of time, so I ended up getting the 309mm, but they worked just fine) the loop/spring is 13mm, and just one 360⁰ turn. The lever arm is about 2 inch (enough to fit the 2 - 1" copper piping, and maybe a mm or so to make sure it spins freely. Also look into getting looping pliers they make the spring/loop look so much more professional/clean looking then just bending it around something like a large drill bit. If I missed anything just let me know. Have a good weekend brother.

@@RookKnight Apparently bike spokes come in a variety of metals. I would think stainless steel is the most common (less susceptible to rust), but having worked with stainless piano wire, I know it has less spring temper. What metal do you recommend?
@RookKnight
@RookKnight 2 ай бұрын
I had to double check, but the ones I got say they're made with 45 steel. It seems to do the trick. It's strong, but still malleable, and holds the shape its put in to. Only thing I don't know if there's something better out there. In this situation, It was more of a happy accident that I got what I got, and it worked.
