Thanks a million for the fantastic techniques you share! I've been a plain hook and sinker or slip rigger here in northeast Minnesota for most of my 50+ years of fishing. Now I am ready to try other tactics like snap rappin'! Keep hoisting 'em in boys, you're the best.

I am retiring in April moving to Detour Village, Mich. Where the St. Marys river meets Lake Huron. I can't wait to try this technique as well as others I've watched. Thanks all glory to God.

Life is good when you have big skillet of fried walleye and fries. Watching this video..... I'm hungry !! LOL

Al I just was wondering if jigging like this would work on the Detroit River? I like this style of fishing and just wanted to know if you have ever tried this style of fishing in rivers where walleye run?

You guys are fishing Ontario, land of "I put a hook in the water i got a fish" you should try seeing how well these techniques work in southeastern wisconsin lakes lol

Snap raps and jigging raps (at least the heavier ones) are not easy to fish-and still maintain a slack line on the fall. Will have to work on this.
@NytronX5 жыл бұрын
When you pop the lure, it should be on semi slack line.

Do you guys go to a larger treble hook than what comes with the jig or leave it as is?

I did not get the name of the lake your on , what size is best to get and colors, to use

Do you use barrel swivel and snap clip?
@LindnerMedia Жыл бұрын
Yes, a small barrel swivel about 12-16" above the lure helps reduce line twists.

I fish ottertail county I won't mention exactly where but say I'm up in June what would you guys be throwing , I only spend a week there to visit family and fish , I am expected to feed a family and I sometimes struggle when the morning milk run leech bite cools off and I'm only halfway into a limit , I grew up by rush and now live in Rochelle Illinois and was also wondering if I should consider dropping a snap rap here as well our ice is almost gone and I'm itching to get the Lund out and hook up ??

Where you guys using anything for a leader? I find it a hard toss up to put leader on for pike or keeping my tie up clean for walleye.
@Migh7yb00sh7 жыл бұрын
on another video of his (same style fishing using the snap rap and jigging rap), he says on his braided lines he uses an 8" mono leader, and no leader on his mono line spooled reels. doesnt seem like he is worried about the need for steel leaders.. good fishing!

Larry smith outdoors

Use a ~14lb fluoro leader. Plus or minus depending on water clarity and how many pike are in the area.

Too bad over 95% of these fish caught in deeper than 27feet of water
@eduffy49372 жыл бұрын
Too bad the majority of fish caught in over 27feet of water die from barotrauma. Doesnt matter how slow you drag them up, as it takes about four hours to adjust to lesser pressure in non venting fish species
