I mean.. as a long time Silver fan (since 2008), I know *I* certainly don't enjoy seeing people turn him into a childish, overly apologetic pushover. The fact that it's become virtually _impossible_ to escape this running theme of Silver being the fandom's punching bag ("that annoying character you just love to hate") is a problem, and not pleasant for fans of his actual characterization. It'd be one thing if it was just reserved for comedy centered projects like Snapcube's videos, for example (where all of the characters are insane versions of themselves), but portraying Silver as this awkward pushover has become so _common_ in fan media nowadays that I feel like I have to ask the question: does the fandom REALLY do this for the lols, or do they just not like the character? Silver has always been a punching bag for a long time, but ever since Sega started mischaracterizing him in the late 2010's (specifically moments in the IDW comics and TSR, where he's portrayed as spineless, his powers are nerfed, and he's constantly talked down by other characters for no reason), people seem to have taken it upon themselves to _further_ drag his name in the mud by pushing this OOC portrayal that has given a lot of new fans the wrong impression of him (I've personally met a lot of people that were confused about who this character was _really_ supposed to be, because all they saw of him were either his 2010 flanderization, or the memes of him in the community). Which is in stark contrast to how the fandom treats, say, Shadow for example. Sure, you have projects that like to exaggerate his surface level traits for the sake of comedy, but those people are able to separate that from his actual character, and don't support his meta era flanderization the same way they do with Silver. Again, jokes are all well and good (I love Snapcube's videos), but if they're _always_ being made at the expense of the character (and hardly anyone bothers to defend his ACTUAL personality), then it needs to calm down in my opinion.

Fandub Silver: Chronically depressed and kinda just lets people walk all over him. Fandub Blaze: Manipulative narcissist who gaslights, guilt-trips, and generally uses Silver for her own self affirmation and to feed her goddess complex. These two have the most terribly toxic dynamic and that's basically their whole appeal and i love it XD

i think one of the funniest things ab the whole "Blaze and Silver are amazed at how cool stuff looks when it's not all destroyed" is the fact that Blaze is a PRINCESS FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION. she lived in a PALACE before, and her family ruled over a KINGDOM. she knows what a house looks like, she just reacts like that for no goddamn reason
