The problem with the Apple A series chips is that they had a pro that optimized their chips. Since they lost him, the only fix Apple has was more cores and smaller processes. They have not actually made any meaningful changes to the processor cores since their designer left. Of course Apple could toss in a couple more performance corres and a half dozen efficiency cores and blow the competition away, but it's not making the cores any better. Course, the Qualcom processor might have active cooling in their benchmarks, like Microsoft did with the CoPilot laptops. And when they talk about the better power savings, what is that compared to? 45% power efficiency compared to what?

I like that the chips are getting significantly better. I think this past year is going to cause Apple to innovate and stop lagging with updates. Apple is too focused on giving people a reason to buy each year over continuously pushing out tech advancements. Apple delays updates to give people a reason to update the following year and I think that lag is starting to get to them. At this point, they need to put it all out on the table before they end up like Black Berry.
@michaelkaliski7651Күн бұрын
All the alleged performance gains can be achieved by reducing the die size of the chips. Apple are not actually behind in any way because making chips smaller is technically possible and automatically gives power consumption and performance gains. The main consideration is chip yield per wafer and how much they need to charge to maintain the same profit margins. Performance only needs to be good enough to satisfy the target user market while giving the best return on any investment in developing any new chips.

So what's the point of all that power if you're having to charge the phone all the time?

I watch the video from beginning to end , read multiple comments and I find both the video and the comments hilarious. How Qualcomm did it? Are you surprised ? Really? The same way Apple did it . Two letters and a number: N3E. Both camps Apple and Qualcomm make empty comments about the efficiency and performance of their favorite architecture. Why? Because they imply they reached all that effciency and performance due to the superiority of their architecture alone. If that was the case TSMC would go bankrupt, since Apple and Qualcomm would still use for example TSMC's N7 or even funnier Intel's 10nm, if their architecture was that good. But guess what ? It is NOT. Since you guys think your designers are Gods , and Apple achieved all this because of their Gods , Qualcomm because it stole some of the Gods , you deserve to be deceived. Parenthesis: even Antutu themselves claim that their scores are not cross-platform. iOS scores are comparable within iOS only, the same is valid for Android phones. So why do you compare iphone and android using Antutu?

yeah which hasn't even launched yet .. + some features come next year ! .. they were so proud promoting it but launched a phone without any A.I capabilities so far.. while Google and Samsung already have A.I available which are better than Siri etc..
